This interview was so enlightening...lots of new tips on safety signals. Love the portion of working backwards when trying to get to a specific activity you want to do (like bowling). Also, that when you begin do the work it's going to feel uncomfortable.

Hi, Dr. Yo. Do you sometimes find that folks who find your work may have some sort of mold toxicity? I found you in May, after being told that my nervous system is shot. I have a long list of diagnoses, which led me to your work. Well between May and now I found out that I have been living in a house with very high levels of mold for years. Going to see a doctor this week to work on this. I went through the work of buying a house and moving out of the moldy house last month. My symptoms have skyrocketed lately, about as debilitating as it gets. At any rate, I’m just curious if you’ve seen the connection between mold toxicity and NCD, and have ever referred patients out to investigate that? I had really been leaning into “medically unexplained” symptoms, but feel like I found out about the mold and really hit a wall. Thanks for reading this.

Hi Dr. Yo - I love the work you do. I have your workbook and have spoken to one of your colleagues. I found you due to my chronic rocking dizziness and other symptoms (tinnitus, vestibular/ocular migraines, etc.). I’m much better these days! One quick but unusual comment: I can’t help but wonder if these symptoms can sometimes be a result of kundalini energy shift, or perhaps a (full or partial?) kundalini awakening. I know that’s probably not your expertise, but I wonder if it’s come up in your practice 🤔 The onset of my symptoms coincided with a stressful time in my life and were precipitated by a panic attack, though I was also going through a bit of a spiritual shift at the same time.

Tanner there’s also the question of “how many times my brain is just trying to show me, omg there’s something wrong, even if I’ve learned that there’s nothing wrong.”

Hi Dr Yo. I'm in my 8th month since vistublar neuritis in bothe ears attack. Been thru all thr rehab, 2 mri s,ent etc. Final symptoms almost constant head pressure in forehead and the more pressure the more dizziness. You don't talk much about head pressure so I assume it's a less common symptom. I still do the glaze stabilizing and breathing exercizes. I stand in corner with eyes closed on a foam pad. Is there any thing in particular to do for head pressure. It Hard not to evaluate your yourself when it's constant. I watch all your vidios.

Hi! I’ve been working with a therapist for a couple months now and even though I’m slowly starting to function in my daily life, I noticed that I’ve had new symptoms related to motion sensitivity.. I never had that before so I’m wondering why it’s happening now

scenario 1 is super relatable, the scannning is so automatic… it’s draining & i think it’s automatic bc it’s so right in your face, like mines in my eyes & nausea. it’s so hard to just try to ignore & not put that attention on it. 😢 along with messages of safety, do you recommend anything else to try to bring it down? thank you ✨
@TheSteadyCoach
@TheSteadyCoach 2 күн бұрын
I think the term "messages of safety" is SUPER broad and my personal favorite is to respond with curiosity. "Ah, there's that vigilance again. Interesting. Hi vigilance. What brings you here today?" and even if I THINK I know the answer, listen patiently. What's really interesting is that when I do this with clients, often the answer is surprising. I worked with a coaching participant last week whose "scanner" turned out to be a reminder for self care when this person had always paid so much attention to others at her own expense.

Hi Dr Yo i’m always so grateful for your videos and the information that you give. I do listen to quite a lot of your messages and on that note I just wanted to make a comment in regard to what Tanner says about sending safety signals to your body. A lot of what you teach, you tell us that if we do things like that we’re basically telling our brain that there is something wrong and therefore the alarm goes higher. In my recovery I’ve always tried to push through and keep doing what I had planned (even if it’s just abit more but on my terms and not because I’m feeling worse) to do but the times when it’s been so hard and I’m so highly sensitised I push through because I don’t want to send that message of there is something wrong. I’m a little confused now. I’m I doing something wrong. I feel like I’m missing something as I’m not recovering or seeing much improvement. Thanks so much ❤️

Great video Dr. Yo. As always just in time also! I subscribed to Tanner the last time he was on The Steady Coach, love his movement shorts. What is the actual definition behind somatic tracking and safety words? I’m never sure if I’m doing them right. At this point I can drive short distances due to anxiety not dizziness. But I can’t write and often struggle to get my words out. I’m still in the medical loop but I feel it’s more akin to OCD qualities and menopause. Not working since May. We always figured it was PPPD after three episode of BPPV. Could it still be? I have felt so hopeless except for you and my husband. I try somatic tracking my thoughts I thought? Sorry so long!
@TheSteadyCoach
@TheSteadyCoach 2 күн бұрын
Of course it can still be PPPD. If you think there's a big anxiety/obsessive compulsive type of cycle going on, you're going to have lots of doubts about whether you're "doing things right." Somatic tracking is very simple. It just means you're noticing symptoms on purpose and responding to them differently from how you used to. Messages of safety are very very individual like Tanner and I talked about here. It sounds like for you, it might be worth taking a second look at the anxiety and doubts as that might be what's keeping things going and making it hard to do exposures.

Hi Dr yonit!.. I wanted to ask that how should I deal with an bppv attack. My dizziness started from an bppv attack an year ago and after that it was intense rocking continuously. I got so much better by watching you videos these few months and was so hopeful that I was making progress in recovery , but all of a sudden 2 days ago I got an bppv attack out of nowhere. It was s o intense spinning and vomiting that I had to go to the er but it didn't help. I tried the epley maneveur many times but it didn't help as well. I am currently taking cinnarizine and other medications to manage it and still aren't getting better. Now I'm feeling really demotivated that all the work I had previously done to heal didn't work and Im right back to where I started from. I wanted to ask that is it normal or not?? And how should I deal with the bppv attack to help it to get better because now because it feels that I'm back to square one with my symptoms again and it feels like I won't get better again😢looking forward for you reply.
@TheSteadyCoach
@TheSteadyCoach 2 күн бұрын
Hi there! First question that definitely needs to be answered- is it actually BPPV, confirmed by a vestibular physio or specialist? If so, it is possible you need a different maneuver. The Epley is not always the correct one. Second, I know this may sound very out of reach, but I want to reassure you that people with BPPV attacks most of the time do NOT end up with chronic symptoms. This of course happens to many of you here on my channel, but your brain can learn that the BPPV attack is a yucky experience like a stomach flu but not a big deal and something that will pass within a few days. I saw many many patients over the years who had occasional BPPV and they sure didn't enjoy them but they'd get their exercise done and then hop off the table and go back to their normal lives. For this to happen, you need to work on the fear of recurrence.
