Nice video Bob's. I use an old 4wht fly rod, combined with a okuma micro spinning reel. 4lb mean line & 2lb florow as tippet, wrks awesome. As I can even fish dry flies, using a bubble float for casting weight ( placed 4 to 5 ft from the fly) . And if I want to fish deeper with nymphs or coronamids , I then use a semi loaded slider float. That way I can fish deeper water, 20 to 65 ft . So that I can fish deep drop offs , that normal fly Fisherman don't have any back casting room. Alot of my fly fishing buddy's, hate me for doing this, as I can hit pockets & runs of water they can't 🤣

Lighter braid would increase casting distance. I don't see the need for anything more than 15lb braid for trout.

i dont go past 6 lb for trout, ever 8) landed them to double figures from the river aire. 15 is way to heavy.

@@christinenaughton1930 I use a lighter mono leader with that, normally 5lb but occasionally 8lb.
