Appreciate the video, the disassembly for me went much smoother than reassembly. Couldn’t figure out why the pump Rod wouldn’t go back into place… turned out the cam pin was rotated to the side and was getting caught up. To get it in all the way and functioning properly, the button on the bottom of the trigger hard needs to be utilized. All assembled and seems to function. Brand new firearm and wanted to give it a clean and lube before firing it. Cheers, all the best.

Basically a great instructional video on how to break down a Troy PAR. The AR upper and lower are designed to be taken apart by FIRST removing the rear take down pin, then rotating the upper receiver upward-away from the lower (also known as "shotgun the receiver"), which removes tension on the FRONT take down pin and then it comes out quite easily without any need for tools. What one should NEVER do is push out - or attempt to push out, both the upper and lower pins with the two receiver halves mated. This causes undue wear on the pin holes and over time WILL result in excessive fore and aft movement of the upper to lower receiver.

Hi how come this isn't a folding stock

what about the BARREL ???
@Madmoody218 жыл бұрын
I wonder if the bottom moving pump part of the rail were removed if it would still function reliably and allow for a bi pod up front.
@_Dyedinthewool7 жыл бұрын
fyi, Troy makes a 5-slot rail for this purpose, it attaches in front of the pump grip. Troy Rail Section, QARS, 2" (SRAI-TRX-P2BT-00) - should cost less than $20 or order direct from Troy Defense website...

Is it possible to remove the bottom pump rail to mount a bipod and just use the side rail to cycle the rifle?

How come the TROY PAR with a 16.5 inch barrel non-restricted? Shouldn’t it be at least 18.5?
@Huntinggearguy4 жыл бұрын
18.5 barrel limit is for semi auto rifles, manually actuated are limited by OAL.

@8Jory7 жыл бұрын
hepatitisjay I believe it is possible but you are limited in that you can't make it shorter than the pump stroke.

Hello Is it possible to remake this gun in semi automatic,at last Theoretically?
@Shadx278 жыл бұрын
You would be just making a new gun by the end. No gas tube, no buffers, no springs, literally you would be making an entire new gun with few parts from this one by trying to add them in.

What is that button at the bottom of the trigger guard for? You said it, but I didn´t understand it.
@Huntinggearguy8 жыл бұрын
It unlocks the bolt & slide so you can pump it.

Ouwkackemann If the gun is loaded and you want to unload it, if you're not sure if the gun is loaded and want to check, and finally, if you want to rack the action back and forth to show off.

I want to cross breed a Par with a Piston AR , Do away with the dumbest part of an AR "The charging handle". Semi auto with a simplistic and ergonomic charging mechanism.

It's a shame that they decided to make the lower receiver of aluminium. It would be considerably lighter if they went with polymer. The advantage that there is no stress applied on the lower portion is just wasted.
@jaesungkim54788 жыл бұрын
Nice rifle though. How heavy is it?
@RyeOnHam8 жыл бұрын
For that matter, the upper could be made from Polymer also. The only stressed part in the upper is the barrel extension, which is steel.
@Huntinggearguy8 жыл бұрын
The PAR's are pretty light considering. 6lbs for the 223/300BLK, or 8.5 lbs for the 308 version: troydefense.com/pumpactionrifle/

RyeOnHam Well, If you don't mind heating up polymer parts where optics should be attached.

Jaesung Kim Several other rifles do that and modern polymers are much better than your daddy's..
