DUDE I don't know how you do it. Backing into an intersection with a car that you can't see behind your trailer? 10/10 level of difficulty. Mad respect to you.

Non-truck drivers will never understand how it feels to see a freeway once coming out of a surface street lol every time I enter regular streets, I always feel I don't belong there. I feel comfortable once I see a truck driver in my area.

I live in Newark. Definitely give props to any trucker that comes this way 🤣 but my first request when I get into trucking hopefully later this year is no NJ or NY runs 😂🤣
@zach8969 Жыл бұрын
I remember years ago when I finished y training and got my own truck my first back was a blindside back in the middle of downtown LA. The place was so small they could only let one truck in the lot at a time and it took me over an hour to finally bump the dock. I ended up being banned for life from that place lol.

Incredible place to practice for beginners. Wide roads, open space. You can do backflips in Cranbury.

I know exactly where you are. Never go to Newark or Patterson in Jersey. Mostly old warehouses and they are tight as hell. Gotta love Atlantic city. Try central Jersey (Edison/Cranbury) or south Jersey. its much better.

I would take my flashlight and place it where the dock was. Then all you had to do is back up using the light as your guide. Works like a charm.

Had to do something similar to that in Chicago several years back. Dispatcher told me a guy would meet me a block away. Next thing I know some homeless looking guy jumps on my passenger running board and proceeded to guide me into a blindside alley back.😂 He told me to just do what he said and I'd be good so I did and I was

We used to deliver to Sears stores in NJ. The docks were under the store in some locations. Blindside back, down a curving ramp into a dark loading dock and then you had to back around piles of crap, other trailers and vehicles and nobody would help guide you. My first delivery here took me 45 minutes to get it inside.

It is your tractor and trailer you can put a set of back up lamps on the trailer so you can see while backing into the dark docks and other parking spaces . If it is my stuff it would not get damaged and then i have to pay out money to fix it ...
@Douttawv2 жыл бұрын
Lol.. they get much worse than that.. especially Brooklyn n Bronx, NY..once u get backed into dock..and u can barely put ur arm to elbow between the wall n side of trailer..n do that blind side backing..n backing in actual traffic across a concrete medium.. consider urself lucky to have got that location!!

Have you ever been to the underground caves in Missouri? They look tight inside but plenty of room if you know how to manuever correctly. I delivered to a beer whse in Denver that was set up just like ur del in Newark. The docks were all the way inside with only ur hood sticking out. I couldn't see a damn thing behind me either and had a truck on the dock to my rt so had to be extra careful. And the dock was on the truck exit of course. Makes for fun times.

It’s called GOAL where you get out and walk you lazy ass back to behind the trailer (several times if need be) and see what your back into and what obstacles you need to avoid and how much room you really have. It is real basic truck driving knowledge and I’m not sure why all these commenters who are apparently are so impressed.
