@@daedaetinez6406 I drove truck for years I always honk for the kids. School buses always have kids doing it. I use to take my kid 20 some plus years ago. She was maybe 4 or 5 years old and every weekend I would drive from central oklahoma to little rock AR. So her momma worked on the weekends so I took my kid. she use to point at my rope for the horn then put her hands over her ears until I blew it. Wow was she cute. I even taught her how to do it to other trucks from the seat of mine. Almost all of them would do it then hit me up on the radio and tell me it made their day. But my favorite time I ever had someone give me the signal I was going across lake Eufaula on the I 40 bridge, it runs along the side the water for a few miles but once a dude on water skies gave me the signal and a thumbs up when I did it.

I'm 23, I just bought my first truck. The last company I worked for was all about embracing new equipment with new technology...unfortunately it's been a huge downfall for them. They went the way of DEF and DPF and even went as far as to "invest" in trucks with compressed natural gas. That being said, every truck they had me in didn't last more than a month at most cause of issues with one of those 3 things. So that was a huge consideration when buying my first truck. I ended up going with an 07 international with a c15 cat in it. No after treatment on it. So I definitely appreciate what the gentleman in the video was saying, it's nice to have something you can fix yourself.

Daniel Gunsallus basically everything right up to around that time is still a drivers truck / car.. not long after that 2010- now.. technology just ruined so much and big brother is able to hack into your shit. I prefer more mechanical stuff.

I was just curious to see what a sleeper in a big rig looks like. I drive by them all the time and have never seen the inside of a sleeper rig. Your interview and the gentleman you interviewed taught me more than I ever imagined. So fascinating. Thank you, Trucker Brown, for the lesson. Moreover, that you, the gentleman and his wife you interviewed, and all USA truckers for keeping the country moving over the long months of this Pandemic. God bless you all.

Stan who's the first person you ever truly heard use the word caveat? I heard Casey Niestat say it a few years ago and had never heard the word before now I hear it everywhere...

@Stan Dalone LOL! 58 and hear and use it often. This is such an odd subject! Our language is fading with all these youngsters failing to learn it and coming up with their own dialect. My wife is a high school teacher and it's very clear, the future is very bleak for America when you see as a whole, the future citizenry and workforce. It's really THAT bad.

@@SpoilerAlert__ in California you can't get around a scale. Being overweight takes a special permit. And steep fines if you're caught without one. Unloading your truck at the scale to get the weight off. Trust me that couple knows how much weight is on that truck, and exactly how to disperse it across the axle.

That guy is so right about working on older trucks, I'm the same with cars, I drive a 1995 Honda CRX which I work on myself, the parts are cheap and because I look after it, it hardly ever has problems... like old cars!
@MezzoForte43 жыл бұрын
Same here, I own a 2006 Miata and have done all the repairs myself (and being a woman, mechanics like to lie and scam them because they don't know cars). While it's nice to have the newest car with all the bells and whistles, I don't think it's worth it when it starts breaking down and you can't easily mess with things like computers and software inside those cars. I've preferred older cars because of that.
