The Jeep sprays water forward because that crazy approach angle and the gap between the fender/bumper allows the water to get out in front of the truck. It's a trade-off! The flat windscreen doesn't help dissipate that water as well as the laid-back windshield on other trucks.

I watched this after buying a Mojave last night. First, Canadian prices are insane. I looked at both trucks. In Arizona, the Raptor is around 65k. I picked up my Mojave for 42k brand new. They list here around 50k. I got an end of the year deal. The independent suspension on the Raptor makes it what it is. A solid axle Mojave, or any Jeep, isn’t going to perform at speeds in whips like a Raptor. Though marketed as “desert runners” they are vastly different. As far as power, the Jeep seemed good enough. Though the Raptor is fun to drive.

@ToddParker5 ай бұрын
Personally, the raptor winning on the speed test has a lot to do with different things; tires, front suspension, etc. Also, desert is different than what your driving in. That said, the price analysis is I think misunderstood based on what I have researched. Raptor and Mojave are top end trucks so they will be high dollar and that is what you are comparing, fair enough. Yet in another video on the gladiator your dad talked about sticker shock on the price of the Mojave, so let's talk. The Sport and Sport S for Jeep Gladiator are every bit as capable off road and probably better on road because of the tires and it is FAR less expensive. My point is, it punches above it's pay grade because Jeep is making a lot more standard: 4x4, 12.3 touch screen with all tech trimmings, best in class backseat legroom, convertible, more skid protection which is best in class. Point is, all of that stuff is options that drives up price in the midsized segment. I think a lot of people are sleeping on the entry trims on the gladiator and I think the gladiator is misunderstood in the midsize truck segment. The entry trim can be bought in US for as little as 34k in some places, you will not find that deal anywhere else for a midsized 4x4 truck with class leading off road capability. This is what "it drives like a Jeep" means. I don't own one yet, it is likely what I would buy though.
@Beanjuice5 ай бұрын
Big no. Co worker of mine got that base 34k gladiator.... Manual windows and no power locks is enough for me to not recommend it to anyone. Imagine paying 34k for a vehicle and having to roll up your windows manually...

I think the Gladiator Sport "S" Max tow might be the unknown unsung option. Heavy frame , wider axles of Rubicon, lift of a Rubicon , 4:10 gearing and limited slip rear differential. Add in Torque grip auto locking front spiders in the front differential or True Trac and it would be formidable off road and more useful. Only downside would be the Jeep motors

Right when you were going to do the ditch crossing with the Jeep, you said you were in 4hi but showed the dash which indicated you were in 4 auto instead....you should do that test and the ruts section again but in part time 4WD and see what kind of difference you get.
@BillyBobTup5 ай бұрын
Don't forget the rock rails(Jeep) vs side step. So, even with it's worse breakover angle, the Jeep will just drag on those rails. Plus, better approach, better clearance, better skid plates. And how about that steel bumper? Can a high lift jack be used on that? It will probably protect from brush and shrubs better than will the Raptor. Plus, it was down right good at the high speed work compared to most 4WD vehicles out there................................... But the Raptor was just so much nicer in that category! Pros and cons. But in the end, 13K USD cheaper, I have to go with the Ford no matter what type of off roading I do, and then I will appreciate the suspension and power every day on road. Still, I hear some spectacular discounts are available on Jeeps these days, so maybe in real world current conditions there is not much difference in price? ............................ One final thing to muddy the waters so to speak. That front locker on the Raptor. But, the traction management PLUS greater front end articulation(solid axle) might make up for a lot of that missing benefit. And worse come to worse, if if I found I ever actually needed the front locker, I can just add one pretty easy to the Jeep. I bet numerous mods will be pretty easy on the Jeep, and maybe cheaper? For me, if I could get the price of the Jeep closer to the Raptor, it would be a hard choice. At least if I did a lot of hard core mud bogging and rock crawling. If not, it would be hard to not go with the Ranger.

But seeing that they both were kinda close in crawling, which Jeep will always win, but high speed is what Jeep is not, well wrangler anyway… Really close, but price point, and functionality “overlanding”, I think I’ve just been convinced, after this lease is up, go raptor, because I don’t need another crawler, and having speed in a trail sounds really fun and better feeling suspension is always a plus, like I said, I already have a crawler..
