Canada has hated the United States for decades now. I personally saw anti US graffiti near the docks at St John's Newfoundland in 2004. This was my first visit to Canada but not my last. Ten years later I returned all business related and a gentleman quite uninvited joined my shipmates (non military and not uniformed) at a bar and began lecturing us on how we should run our country. He went on to say he was a history major and had studied US policy. I asked why he had not got a real degree such as engineering to actually build something to help his country. I know my bad. He left in a huff, to go referee a soccer game. Go figure. Australia was just as anti American. It stunned me. As a country the US is own our own. I am for withdrawing somewhat our support. I'm tired of pouring money abroad while our own people support by taxation and see little benefit. Trump made NATO countries pay. Sure we have plenty of social problems but our great house is crumbling. Secure the boarders, become energy independent, build our industry, repair our infrastructure and get our kids healthy and educated. Let get "R" done.

I used to think the same way too, when I was young and foolish. Then I hit my mid 20s and started thinking for myself. Canadians, the majority of which live within a day trip to the US, have more in common with our Southern neighbours than the Quebecers do with France, that's for sure. I'd get along with a backwoods, good ol' Alabaman more than I'd get along with a Victorian/Vancouverite. Their culture is closer to mine than some city slicker's is.

I like what the guy said, "What about the 40% taxes and I don't have a doctor?" All Canadians who don't have a doctor should get a tax return at the end of the year. It's universal healthcare. If it's not universal for all Canadians, but we all pay into it, then either we all get equal access or tax rebates for those who don't. Yet people here on visas get free healthcare after being in Canada for only 3 months. Anyone coming into Canada on a visa should have private health insurance until, or if, they become a citizen. That should free up a lot of money, resources and places. I bet it will also drive down the numbers of those coming here on visas as well. We don't have enough for Canadians the way it is.

1 in 4 people in Canada work directly for government. Public sector is larger than private sector now. 1/3 of country population is idle thus probably on assistance or benefits. How does Trudeau expect to pay government pensions of millions each a year to 25% of country? Average wage of other 7/12 of population working still they need to steal from can not cover services and pensions let alone new government pensions.

The other day my mom told me of a $40 hr job as a busdriver. I went balistic! Just the thought of making 80k a year and NEVER being able to get your year back as being a fulltime van bum! I mean in the states I get $973 a mo SSI and $291 SNAP but will be getting a raise of $1 mo on the food side and likely $25 mo next year on the build yourself a cool campervan/trailer side. And I have no complaints with that. Also here in Mass I have the best comprehensive free dental even better than what Trudeau is offering. Root canals/and crowns included! 4 years prior I paid out of pocket $13,400 for much of the same and I felt like an empty loser "Paying his way" Look, I'm all against the jabs and the coverings, but Socialism keeps the world Free! So you and I can enjoy our lives, and that sap in the red shirt, learn to enjoy himself.*
