She wants an equal, and she never once begs him to make her a vampire. Even though he probably would have if she wanted, or Eric too. She takes power in her humanity. She also kills people who try to kill her, so she's no "there's no blood on my hands" girl. She tries not to kill, but when she needs to, she will. He also was hundreds of years older.. what would they even talk about? He looked much older than her too so that casting was kid of odd to me, "Bill" imo was a gentleman I guess (I didn't watch all seasons so if he later on became worse or something sorry I am not aware of that.. although even in season 1 he was possessive which was problematic absolutely.. and it was written off and explained away as he was worried about her safety around other vamires who admittedly are dangerous in that world, are much stronger than her can glamour her.. or did her powers make that impossible? i don't remember). I just loved the theme song, the southern setting and summer dresses on sookie and lafeyette was the best character, I thought the vamp blood being used as a drug was a cool part of the premise, and Jason was obviously super attractive. I didn't stick with the show for very long though. Couldnt stand Twilight type crap even though I was in the age group/ demographic that it was aimed at and was just sick of the plethora of poorly written vampire crap that was saturating the market at the time. One show does well and other people try to capitalize on it by cloning a handful of cash grab slapped together stuff.. and the show that did well in that case was crap to begin with.. is it true that Twilight started out as a fan fic of... ugh its been too long and I barely registered much about the twilight franchise but I remember hearing that the author wrote it as a fan fic erotic novel base dpon existing characters, and from what I know of the plot and the zero character traits of the female lead that seemed 100% true (that could've been Kristen Stewart and her one expression though, idk).

I always thought Bill was shady as hell, and I was later proven right. (As it’s later revealed that Bill let those two attack him, and he let them attack Sooky. Completely wrong. Twilight makes vampires kinda "sexy" and "cool". True Blood shows all the weird and disgusting things about it. With the way they show how vampires are killed, with all the blood and slimy things, you'd want to throw up. And the show foreshadows a lot of things from real life, such as religion and homosexuality, using the metaphor of vampires. Also, the main character - Sookie - turns out to be a fairy and is one powerful lady that isn't afraid to use her powers and help anyone that needs it. It's a pretty good show, and honestly shouldn't be compared to Twilight or The Vampire Diaries.

True Blood is one of the best and unique stories out there that is sadly very underappreciated. It's a dark comedy/drama that makes fun of LITERALLY anything, gives amazing representation to many US minorities out there and guess what? It does so without whitewashing it's non-white characters, and portays realistic romance for straight and queer people. It deals with trauma, abuse, loss, heart break, and all without teenage drama and angst. And I'm not even going to start about how amazing the plot was, but I must say that it's one of few series out there that didn't become trash with later seasons.

I'm a huge Buffy and Angel and I love Anne Rice as well, but have never actually seen this show, I hated Twilight and was okay with the Buffy/ Angel repeat of the Vampire Diaries/Oringals, so I hope this show is more like Anne Rice and Josh Weden vamp vs the twilight garbage. let me know thanks also Buffy and Spike forever.

Malia Ferry Buffy and Spike were always OTP!! I loved! Buffy it's definitely a classic. I can already tell you'll ship Sookie and Eric ❤️ About Twilight- I know it’s garbage but I was into it when I was a teen. It wasn't because of the content, it was the vibe and the actors, and the whole pop culture around it. It holds a place in my heart even though it's cringey lmao. I liked it for exactly what it was-A quirky, half baked,Vampire/werewolf story for 15 year olds. Vampire Diaries was great LEAGUES BETTER than Twilight. But again I take it for what it was- a teen drama. And a very good one at that. #unpopular opinion I liked Klaus, but the Originals were my least favorite part of TVD. I didn't even bother watching past the first episode of their spinoff. Interview with a vampire was moody and dark. You'll find that dark vibe in True Blood. But idk they all have a different taste to them (lol I’m a connoisseur apparently😂). True Blood is dirty- they do a really good job in portraying this sweaty, sticky, dirty south kind of vibe. You will fall in love with the locals in the town. The writing is better than Vampire Diaries, but this is a show directed towards adults. Of course it’s not perfect, but I’d say I enjoyed it more than I enjoyed Twilight, Interview with A Vampire and Vampire Diaries. Just know that True Blood is gore-y and has sex scenes. (You will see naked people) It's TV MA. But I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

@@anacolla2 I read all of Anne Rice books and I loved Interview with a Vampire, the book was amazing. Also I recommend Passion of the Nerd for the Buffy and Angel guides, they really help you dig deep into the show, please support Ian if you can, his guided have really been there for me. I strongly recommend them.

Milena Ber Lol that’s a difficult one. Every season has something I don’t like- Maryann for example in Season 1 😂. I won’t even get into it all lol. Id say my favorite was Season 2. The best part of the show is their characters!- it’s was just nice to visit Bon Temps and see what they were all up to lol Which was your fave?

This show was weird in so many ways, had a decent amount of smart humour and so much sexual tension every episode that it sometimes felt like erotica, but also had some interesting strong, female characters beside Sookie, like Jessica, Tara nad Pam. I really liked it back in the days.

True Blood is actually based off of the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlene Harris they didn’t do movies because each book has pretty much nothing to do with the one before, and it wouldn’t make any sense because you can only pack so much information into a 2 hour movie, so it wouldn’t make sense, with a TV show, you can, it’s weird, I’m only on book one which is “Dead Until Dark” but I’m already sucked into it

I think with the soft porn element, gore and rape scenes it was never really meant for teens but the first season was epic in my opinion.

The books this show was based on pre-date Twilight by a four years, and had far more books in it, which sustain their quality. However, after season 1 this show went totally off the rails. But it did give us Alexander Skarsgard, so I'm not angry about it.

I always felt like True Blood was MEANT to be campy and cheesy, almost mocking the genre in a sort. It stood out because it was incredible at world building, character development, and things MADE SENSE (cough cough, unlike Twilight). Great video tho and honestly I forced myself to watch the first few episodes, it gets better/worse, in a way that is NOT youtube appropriate lol. Plus everyone in it is absolutely gorgeous (Alexander Skarsgard). Also Lafayette's monologues were so good. Cool. Rant over. Off with your fucking lives, then.
