As far as I am aware, web spinning spiders all produce two types of strands, those that are sticky and those that are not. They walk on their webs by stepping on the not sticky strands. The next time you see a spider web you can do the same, touch the strands that go straight inwards towards the center of the web, they should be the non-sticky strands, the ones that go around and around are the sticky ones.
