regardless of whether you think Howe has been backed in the transfer market, there are two major problems 1 - Howe's refusal to get rid of the league one and below players that infest the squad and are either constantly injured or just not good enough - wilson(if he's never available, what's the poi nt keeping him) almiron, murphy, dubravka, the rest of the bench keepers and more. 2 - we went after guehi at Howe's insistence. the second the first bid was rejected we should have walked away. we've needed a right winger since before the takeover.

I am so confused with this. What Howe has done is a fantastic job, with not as much to spend as one thought. He had no Tonali for a year and is basically playing with a team that was almost relegated with Bruce. Brian - be careful what you wish for. I still don't know why we did not try to buy a right-winger who can actually play football. Instead, we spent 5 weeks negotiating for a decent (but not top-quality) center-back. We needed a right winger in the summer more than Guehi. Murphy and Almiron offer nothing. I suppose we are looking better than we did in August but our finishing is abysmal. I still would not sack Howe though. He has not been backed since Aug 2023. He will make mistakes like every player and manager does, but I don't think sacking him improves us. After our bad window. I said to my mates. We have no chance of top. At best could scrape 7th and with favourable draws and some luck. We may get far in the League or FA cup.

Currently, Newcastle United are 9th in the Premier League, but they are brutal to watch. No one is playing up to their standard. Eddie Howe is a good manager, but the management hasn't supported him in the transfer window. I believe we'll be around 10th or even lower by January. January will be crucial for us, I'm not sure how much we can spend, but I don't think we'll finish in the top 4 or near it. No European football next year. I have a feeling that if Eddie Howe doesn't finish in the top 6, the Saudi owners might sack him.

For me lack of investment is not the excuse they are making it out to be. we look like a shadow of the team we were two years ago and the team on paper is far far better than that team of 2 years ago. Lat year injuries were blamed as the problem, I think this year is proving that it wasnt injuries and there is a bigger problem which has to stem from Howe and the team.
