True Kit Discovery 330 + Suzuki DF6AS3 + RAILBLAZA C-Tug Dinghy Wheels. The engine was in its first hour so I got to only 1/3 throttle for about 7mph.

Was chosing between the 330 or the 4 but went with the 330 for the lighter weight. Hope I made the right decision ! Looks great

Welcome to the club! I think that's a wise choice. For me the 330 is heavy enough. Pulling the 330 with the tiny 6ph motor up the ramp was already a big workout for me. I don't think I can handle the 400 by myself.

@@axscdvfb yes 80% of the time it will be just me and other days with my wife or a friend so 330 is plenty

Nice. I just ordered the 4.0 m. One thing I have learned there is never enough space in a small boat...

I think I'm going for the 330....It'll fit fully inflated inside my 7'X12" cargo trailer with ramp rear door...Am pretty sure I can pack all camping gear around it and soft bags inside boat when travelling.....My goal is to camp out on as many Florida beaches as I can, plus the keys.....Planning on hitting the road in 2 months or so....Will make some vids (haven't shot any vids for a couple years at least)....My camera equipment is gettin' dusty.... ;o)

My Discovery 330 arrives this week in Florida, USA! Ordered with the wheels and going to put a Suzuki 15 on it. Any first impressions?

The DF6 is good enough for me. My main problem is I should go out more often!

We are truly enjoying our 330. I would suggest getting the front bow four point harness (I made mine). It makes all the difference pulling solo...

Thanks for posting--two questions if I may. What is the SLOWEST speed you can run? Second, did you compare this Suzuki with any other 6 before purchase--I mean on paper? The Tohatsu, the Yamaha, etc./all? thank you
@fishandrib86722 жыл бұрын
I didn't measure but it was pretty slow in idle. Maybe 2 miles per hour if I have to guess. I picked Suzuki because it is the lightest in weight in the 6hp class. Tohatsu (same as Mercury) is slightly heavier and Yamaha is quite a bit heavier and more expensive.

@@fishandrib8672 Thanks for that--did the engine lock in place if you want it to not turn--and not have to stay back there with it while it is running? Thank you again, and thanks for posting

Hey man my true kit 3.3 is on the way, and I am very curious. I dont want to much weight, but I am worried that 6 hp is not enough. What topspeed do you get once the motor was ready for full throttle ? Also I am very curious about the wheels since i saw another video where they did block the movement of the engine and that was also a 3,3 so I am quite puzzled that it worked for you :0). Hope you can give some feedback

My motor can move without any problem and the wheels don't get into the way (see 1:05). I haven't used the boat for a while, but I think with a 6hp 4 stroke engine you will get 10~12mph max. If you want faster try to get a 2 stroke engine, which is ligter so you can get more hp for the same weight.
