I lived out in the middle of nowhere for 15 years and had several middle of the night encounters. You learn a lot when you reflect on what went wrong and what went right. Never had someone shoot at me or had to shoot someone. I advise a metal storm door, a loyal dog, and just tell the person I can call a Taxi or the sheriff, you pick. I always told them, I'll pay for your taxi...you're not coming in my house and you're not using my phone.

This is a wonderful, humble guy, who did a great job. It would have been so helpful to hear what happened when the police got there. Did he answer all the questions right off the bat? Did he call a lawyer, or feel the need to at any point? What does he think of USCCA insurance? I suspect that because he killed a cop killer in a clear cut case of self defense at his own home there was no hint that he could have been prosecuted, but that sure would have been interesting to hear him talk about that issue. Very interesting interview, but so many missed opportunities to educate, and promote USCCA. If I were you guys, I would go back and interview him again.

@@papimaximus95 I will disagree. Many home invasions happen in seconds. By the time most people realize what is happening, they only have a couple seconds to get armed let alone open the chamber to load a round as this man did. Nowadays, if a stranger comes to your door asking for help, tell him to wait outside and you will call the police to come help him, then close and LOCK the door. Make sure you are armed and stay inside, just in case he doesn't get the message. No need to go outside and expose yourself. Inside, you have the tactical advantage. I feel for this man and his lady. Times have changed so much just in my 33 years. I think of all of the times I saw strangers with flat tires that I stopped to plug for them, and how they looked at me when I first approached. Like they were scared, and it bothered me. I never carried back then. After I had a cheap mac-10 with ground off serial numbers shoved in my window at a stop sign, my temperament changed. That was the first altercation I had with loaded weapons, with my P-89 MKII by my side. Now, as I've grown older, I understand why they were skeptical. Now, if there's a male in the vehicle I won't stop to help and I'm always armed. It may be callused, but its the way of the world these days. Dont know if things have changed or If I was just young and dumb

9:25 Wayne, you did a very good job with the situation you were in. I’m glad it wasn’t you who went to the morgue. As I am as old or older than you are and live by myself, I respectfully have these comments: You had been shot Twice and 911 told you to call someone else??? You might have passed out before you could do that. God, what are ‘friends’ for? Do these two things differently: Keep a round in the chamber. If you are only going to keep a few rounds in the magazine, buy a revolver. Although I keep my auto nearby, it’s always a revolver on the table by my bed. When I need it, I know that thing will shoot the first time I pull the trigger every time.

God bless you sir for sharing your story, I'm 68 years old and live alone here on the border in Texas, after what I've been seeing going on in our nation with the absolute lawlessness, I carry now 24/7 without hesitation (( 16 round clip & 1 and the chamber )) . I've been a gun owner for many many years, put thousands of rounds On targets, so the understanding and muscle memory I have acquired to run my weapon is as comfortable as carrying a pocket knife. It's unfortunate that no one seems to openly acknowledge that many many countries are emptying their prison and sending them to the border, these unsavory individuals have little regard in taking what they want from innocent everyday American citizens simply going about their day. If you're going to carry a side arm for self protection, make sure it's safely in a Proper holster & Fully loaded with one in the chamber, practice practice practice, your draw should become muscle memory, don't fool yourself into thinking you have time to rack one into the chamber, You only have a split second. So take the time it takes-to take less time, practice practice practice your draw. Do your best to study people and their mannerisms of potential ill intent, We now have over 4 million illegal individuals that have entered our country and nation, there have been 1 million individuals that have entered our country that have evaded Any processing are confrontation by law enforcement. Those people are dark shadows that did not want to be encountered, nothing good happens in the shadows Of darkness.
