You are wrong. The reason the song works is because Ian Kenny is a true artist & puts heart & soul into this rendition. The lyrics are representative, relevant, modest, uniting & accurate. The sound is fresh, anthematic and evolved. And it sounds like no other teams song That in itself, is the west coast way

Port Adelaide Has the best pre-game build up no argument. I remember when I first heard this after joker and the thief and just thinking fark, the big heart bumping build up as they come out then it all just mellows out.

Agree to disagree. When last season's Eagles-'Pies fixture was telecast here in Canada and I heard the 2020 anthem blaring through Optus' superior sound system for the 1st time; I was hooked. I grabbed my guitar and learned the song, performed here in key of A. Since then I've watched a lot more footy - men's and women's - and become a fan (of both the game and the Eagles).🎸💙💛

It just doesn't work at an actual game. The players are running out and the chorus doesn't even start until they're on the ground. I don't think anyone - even many Birds of Tokyo fans - likes the new version. I'm sure there's already a petition to change it back, and let's hope they see sense.

I'm a cats fan and I think that the original teams who use old operas etc are solid but not thrilling. I definitely think ours is very much middle of the road. I also thought the Eagles song was decent but not great although it's catchy and fun enough. This iteration is a very tacky, overly-corporatised and soulless redo. It's an Olympic volleyball kind of vibe. If I were you guys I wouldn't want to sing that or listen to it at all. Less is more, how can you go past bing crosby (tigers) and the saints. no one enjoys a burger with 12 toppings.
