my interpretation of the song is that he's talking about depression. 'I wake up every morning with my head up in a daze' people who struggle with depression don't really feel like they're 'participating' in life and they're just kinda on the sidelines watching life pass them by, they often forget what day it is. He talks about people telling him he's just going through a phase, which is true for people who struggle with depression. Those who don't struggle with depression don't understand how hard it really is, and think that those of us who are depressed are just going through a phase or that we can just get over it quickly. He even straight up says 'I battle with depression...' the part where he says 'every wall that I knock down is just a wall that I replace' speaks to the isolation of depression. You put up walls and shut people out. And when you try to open up a little to someone, you realize it was a mistake bc they don't understand what you're going through bc they just think it's a phase and so put walls back up and shut everyone out again. 'I'm a liar, I'm a cheater, I'm a nonbeliever' is saying that he's lying to everyone, he's lying to himself that he's okay, when in reality that couldn't be farther from the truth

My 2 cents on the title name, i think the general idea is not just about himself and the struggles he is/has been through but just how popular the monster is in every person who is going through some tough times and when people just say its just a phase/ just a stage in life, when all they want to be is ok and normal. In the video he got pushed to far and turned into the monster that was inside him at the end, and once seeing his daughter helped him return to the present and grounded his life to only see what he has done. i'm sure it goes deeper than that but as an overview thats how i saw it.

The lyrics essentially are like you guys said he is popularly viewed as a monster in the eyes of many and the video is more of a metaphor of him basically "becoming the monster" everyone says he is. Popular Monster, and Ronnie actually kind of eludes to this... feeling of his often, especially in the album "Fashionably Late" Popular Monster, meaning Ronnie saying, how can he be so popular when he thinks of himself as a monster with all of these issues? Lying, cheating, depression, pain, feeling unlovable, potentially feeling like he isn't enough for his daughter or that hes not a good example for her (hence her inclusion in this video after he killed everyone in his Monster form.) his whole prison scandal, yet we as fans, (or people who just love good music) put him on this pedestal. He references this issue a lot in his fashionably late album. The song "Holding On" has the lyrics, "I thought I had myself all figured out. But I spent my whole life holding myself down. And it seems to be that sort of thing I keep doing constantly. Addicted to the pain I cause myself. My head is floating somewhere in the clouds. While I'm paid to entertain a lovely crowd. They sing my songs and feel my pain. Cause pain is what creates my fame. A vicious cycle someday I'll get out." His fame is built on his pain and whether he can grasp his head around it or not, he's famous for it. At least that's what I feel.

I took the lyrics as popular monster being the thing its popular to demonize. He's a liar, a cheater, a non believer, 3 things that are demonized in society. He fights against these labels until he cant anymore and accepts and embraces them, fully becoming the monster people already see him as.

You guys are some of the first people to understand his lyrics while doing a reaction. Ronnie's new album is dedicated to his daughter (who appears in all the music videos on this album). The stories is about him needing to make a change from doing hard drugs so he can be a part of his daughters life and how going down the wrong path almost made him lose his daughter. This song points out how the popular opinion is that he would be a bad father and that he is a bad guy (my interpretation) because of everything. Though he is a great father and loves his daughter more than anything.
