You know, one piece is really long. And it seems like there is stuff hardly happening... but once you dig deeper, you will notice GODa has a formula for storytelling.... its like a snowball... it is taking and taking on a size and in between every arc Oda puts miniArc that break this snowball and thats when story is really moving forward in an extremly fast pace, setting up another arc. And while this is happening, there are many callbacks and in the end everything goes full circle ( even ep 1 and ep 1000 are connected) . Its like a chess board with 5 to 6 dimensions...

You have probably gotten some requests to react to ( The Appeal of One Piece ) by Super Eyepatch Wolf but that video is a bit out-of-date (6 years out-of-date). So I recommend you react to ( Is Starting One Piece Still Worth It In 2023? ) by Ohara. The video has very few spoilers and it will blow your mind. P.S. The story takes place over 5+ years so far with 2 years in the first part followed by a 2 year timeskip and then 1 year after timeskip to present time.

I read the manga since the beginning in 1997 and the anime when he appear in Japan through French Fansub until now. Oda have so many inspirations for making this world.

The only other author that does word building this deep and detailed that I know of is J. R. R. Tolkien (Lord of the Rings). Oda has a amazing eye for foreshadowing and detail.

in my opinion, one pieces true greatness comes from its world. the stories and characters and plot threads going all over the place wouldnt matter if the lore and the world they existed in were trash but i bet most one piece fans who watched ep 1 to 1000 can name like 90% of the place we have been if you show them a bunch of random pictures even when you do shit like draw the older stuff in the newer rendition of the style or the new stuff in the old style.... like people have literally been able to plot the exact course of the crews adventures on a map and it makes logical sense and the way each island has developed differently to other islands based on what is on said islands is just amazing and nevermind the power systems which for now i will just mention the intrigue and fun of devil fruits but later on, past episode 500 is where the power system takes its first MASSIVE jump up in awesomeness and worldbuilding so get excited :D

3:00 i would best define one piece not as a story being told but flat out as THE BEST adventure in entertainment. like the way that everything is framed makes you understand why everyone in the community talks on and on about nakama (crew / friends) and experiencing the story the way oda wants you to once you get hooked makes you forgot the crew isnt real and you arent really sailing the grandline because of the message that anyone can be a nakama so long as you have a deep love for adventure, freedom, and most of all, *dreams*......

its more like 3 and a half years the show takes place in but only 2 years that has actually been stated to have definitively occured. like the distance they would have had to travel easily puts it at 3 years at the bare minimum but most likely after ep 500 to the current episdes has been AT LEAST half a year if not nearly another year in the show.

8:15 belive it or not, i heard of one piece all the way back in like 2014 when i was like 13 and i had already gotten into anime with fma 2003, deathnote, and yes...... sao, and i started trying to watch one peice but the art in the early episodes till like episode 30 felt like a damn kaiu episode or somethin and i just couldnt get into it but than in like 2016 i decide i would give it a chance again since i had nothing new to watch at the time i liked and once i hit episodes 30 to 40 known as the arlong park arc, i was all in and found myself binging to where the show was at the time which if i remember right was like episode 400 or 500 and at that point i kept watching the weekly releases on pirate sites fittingly enough cause fuck cruncyroll and funimations sub services rather than ad support until i stopped watching at 576 round about cause that was where the dub ended as i will say especially past about episode 300, a character gets added who flat out you NEED to at least hear in the dub a few times if not honestly just watch the dub for because his voice in my opinion sucks in the sub all for the sake of a joke only japanese people would get that ruins a lot of his coolness. beyond that the dub is just solid with accurate translations that still make A LOT more sense to native english speakers. basically if you watch one piece, watch it dub for a while and than eventually when you hit the ennies lobby arc watch dub a little bit more just to see about that character i mentioned.
