Yep, they are very thirsty plants. Gotta water and fertilize with a lot of zinc

My wife and I really enjoy your channel! In 4 days we are off to the east side of Big Island, second trip. We want to grow fruit and vegetables. Mahalo 🤙

My jaboticaba is your size and had a one-two punch and looks almost dead. I planted it on a hill (read dry), and then Irma knocked it over. I plan to relocate it to a wetter location.

Terrific, Chris...was not aware they are part of the Guava family...there are some varieties I had seen brought in here (a maybe so-called red variety ?) that may fruit earlier--within 2-3 yrs...perhaps correct ? Should have wrote that down--this was many yrs ago when I heard this...

Jeff, is it the Plinia cauliflora x Plinia aureana hybrid? I found it on an Australian nursery site. They say it's a dwarf and that it can fruit within 3-4 years!

Thank you for sharing this video. I have mine in a container and bring it inside and this is my second winter with it. This year it has really started to drop leaves. They are turning brown from the tips and dropping like flies. I've moved it more under a grow light and in an area where I have a humidifier running. Should I increase it's watering also? Last winter I didn't have this issue and I love the tree so any tips you can give me are greatly appreciated.

...also, are the roots sensitive to where regular tap water could be causing the leaves to brown and drop?
