@@mariotito3722 the process for the award is a long time, unless there is a very clear evidence and stuff then the process will be shorter. There are even veterans from the Vietnam war which is how many decades ago, being awarded the Medal of Honor in the 21st century. Since the process completion is done in Trump's presidency then President Trump will be the one awarding. Just like Master Sergeant Roy Benavidez, a former Green Beret and MOH recipient. His actions that qualifies the MOH was in the 1968, that time the President was Lyndon Johnson, but he was awarded the Medal of Honor in 1981, the presidency of Ronald Reagan so President Ronald Reagan is the one presenting the award.

At that time of his action, he was Sergeant First Class. Now he is a Sergeant Major. But I do feel something strange. He got promoted to Sergeant Major from Sergeant 1st Class within 5 years. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought one of the requirements to become a Sergeant Major is to have at least 20 years of service. He enlisted in 2002, so he only has 18 years of service.

That deep breath and pulling up of his shoulders after hearing his name spoken by President Trump was all pride @0:55 The look of reassurance and nod President Trump gave him @12:13 was priceless, that Soldier will remember that look and nod for the rest of his life. In these types of ceremonies it's not about whats said so much as it's about the inner strength that's left unspoken, think of a good western, it's the underlying resolve. As a Marine Veteran that served under Reagan, I assure you that Soldier was properly overwhelmed and President Trump's demeanor, character and behavior were spot on. And a bit about the CMH, Congressional Medal Of Honor. It's awarded by Congress, not the President, the President's job is to approve it and pin it on. The President cannot pick CMH recipients nor can the President nominate CMH recipients. That's all done by the service members chain of command and Congress. Once it has been approved up the service members chain of command it goes to Congress for approval, from Congress it goes to the President for final approval, much like a Bill. Except in the case of the CMH the Presidents approval is a given, to my knowledge no President in US history has ever denied a CMH recipient. It then befalls the Commander & Chief of US Armed Forces, the President, to award our nations highest military award to the service member in a ceremony. I find it quite fitting that a Soldier whom earned the CMH fighting terrorism was awarded the CMH on the day marking the beginning of the war on terrorism, 9/11. A time frame chosen and made possible by Congress. If you think it wasn't well timed, blame Congress, however as a Marine I think it was perfectly timed considering the reason for the award and the significance of 9/11.

If I was that brave soldier, I would have declined the medal as long as it was being presented by Trump and shoved that pen where the sun don't shine. Another photo op and election ploy by Trump,too little ,too late, not to mention totally hypocritical.

They cremate kids without asking their parents or allowing them to see them one last time. Most kids separated from their moms never see them again.
