I’m pro fair competition. As long as we continue to subsidize oil with 100’s of billions of dollars, we should continue subsidize EV’s.
@PWN-E15 күн бұрын
Absolutely!
@nerdbikes384116 күн бұрын
If EVs don’t;t get government support neither should the oil industry. The oil industry gets special tax breaks and US Military director support paid for by US taxpayers. It costs $$Billions every year to aid oil tankers access through dangerous waters far away and this cost is paid by taxpayers so oil executives can rake in huge $ bonuses and salaries. If the US taxpayer did not provide free security and put our military lives in harm’s way the price of gasoline would likely be closer to $10/gal due to paying for US Military security or having to obtain much more expensive shipping insurance.

The Trump family took a post election photo. Melania was not in the photo, but Elon Musk was. so at least one electric car maker will be supported by this administration. he will however gut environmental regulations. I think that’s the sad part for many people who drive EV because they care about the environment.
@M-rk8he16 күн бұрын
I could be wrong but I don’t think Musk will have much of a say in what Trump and republicans do. They took his gift of over 100 million dollars and allowed him to hop up and down on stage like an idiot. I don’t see him having much say in major decisions. Trump is not loyal or grateful to anyone long term. I could be wrong. And if I am, Musk could decide to use his sway of Trump on Space X, Starlink and AI and less so on climate change goals. Tesla benefited from subsidies for years and is the EV leader in US partly do to that government money. In 2025 getting rid of subsidies and EV targets helps Tesla. EV startups will fail and legacy auto makers will slow or halt their electrification goals.

How am I supposed to figure out if the Grand Touring is worth the upgrade? The Touring will undoubtedly have a smaller battery pack and I'm OK with that. Not knowing all the other features that will make up the difference between $80k and $94k is a serious problem and now I cannot even consider Gravity until the Touring specs are out.
