Somehow this voting system we have in the USA has to be made more equitable. I’m a voter..will vote Blue. I don’t live in a ‘swing state’ and I’m upset that My President is being decided by only a few states. That fact, that the whole elections for any president, depends only on a few states makes me feel like my vote is unimportant. I would like to go to a rally and hear the candidates live too…but I know from either party they will never come to my state. This year, moving into this new state, they made it so hard to get a voter registration…I had to bring all sorts of documents…and it too 5 trips to get my voter registration. I had to fight to get registered and feeling like my vote doesn’t really count…only the swing states count…is disheartening!

I was a volunteer organizer for the Obama 08 campaign, and the McCain/Palin campaign was way more sophisticated than Trump/Vance ticket. I just spent a week door knocking and talking to people in Maricopa County (I live in a blue state). In my non scientific opinion, there is a large swath of people who won't publicly say they are voting for Harris, but they will. Women in particular. Keep the faith and get out the vote! I think we will be ok. And a question: why don't the Dems just show video excerpts of Trump talking? He is batshit, looks like shit, and offends everyone and everyone. Hillary Clinton was also polling high because the way pollsters weighted the different demographics did not at all match who turned out. Since then, pollsters changed how they did that after the 2020 election because of the new census and previous elections. But the data for that census came mostly by the February, before COVID really changed the makeup of the population. Based on the data we do have, and this is atrocious to discuss, COVID was much harder on Republicans than Democrats. It may have made the difference between winning and losing the 2022 midterm in many places.

I was diagnosed with lung cancer last October and had my right lobe removed and honestly was not as excited as I should be that it was only stage one . I'm a registered independent and I'm 52 years old and there have been times when I've been a Democrat but I like to be independent. I only change if I want to attend an event where you have to be that party. I have voted for many Republicans but I'm done. I can't do it anymore after seeing how easily all of these Republicans folded and became Trump republicans. The only ones I trust all quit their jobs. Or got fired because they were doing a good one. I have never once been asked in all of my years walking out of polls or via phone calls, I have never been asked about my voting preferences. I live in a state with split electoral college votes and everybody knows probably what state I'll be talking about because they tried to eliminate my vote a couple of weeks ago as a last-ditch effort to try to win the election for Trump in my state no matter what. They are desperate. But I don't put a ton of faith in these polls because they're not reaching out to me and I've been alive a long time so far. My phone doesn't ring that often. Edited to correct every error where 'polls' was spelled incorrectly, a poles because the phone must think I'm going fishing. Apparently my phone doesn't understand contacts when I'm speaking to it.

I live in a place where we have minimum wages and tips are frowned upon if not banned. Life is so much more relaxing than in the US where every little interaction in customer service/hospitality is monetised. Not to mention the peace of mind when you know that everyone around you is insured, is saving up for retirement and is nice to you because they want to, or they won't lose on tips if they're having a crappy day.
