To be fair, it'd be just as short sighted if he did. But the main reason is that the movie industry has a far more powerful lobby, so politicians like to go after video games, which they don't believe is as strong in that area.

Patrick Scott Patterson The video game industry is much bigger than Hollywood today. Maybe Republicans and Trump are just being biased, because people in the video gaming industry and silicon valley tend to be more liberal. After all, both industries are in states like California, Oregon, and Washington state.

I'm aware of the size of the industry today. But a lot of people STILL don't know that, accept that or respect that.

Democrats: "REEEEEEEEEEE! Video games promote violence!" Also Democrats: "Lol, silly Orange Man blaming video games for promoting violence."

The age old "debate" on this has never been aligned with a single political party. Both sides have overplayed that hand for decades.

@@PatrickScottPatterson "Both sides have overplayed that hand for decades.". I know but Democrats SUDDENLY pretend that they defend video games every time Republicans whine about them. The irony is that Donald Trump got his own official video game and Clinton couple made official cameos at Ready 2 Rumble: Round Two.
