@muthmainnahj.abdullah9436 The hardware is still very good. There are three little dark spots on the display but they don't disturb the reading. The battery is of course really weak by now, I have to charge it after every reading session even without Wifi. It's more the software that is deprecated or rather that Amazon deprecated deliberately. For example, one day they finally switched from mobi to epub but "forgot" that old devices can't handle epub. So I get an error message when I send files in either format via email. I have to connect it via USB to a computer and copy the mobi file directly to the device. I actually just bought a new paperwhite Kindle during blackweek. It's so much faster and highlighting got a better UX. But the backlight is disagreable to the eyes, the screen is reflecting the light more and highlighting from the end of one page to the start of the next is not possible anymore. It's sad to see so little progress in such a long time. Let's see if this one will last another 12 years...

I recently gave my 2012 paperwhite to my daughter and ordered the new one for myself for my wife to gift me for Christmas. Can't wait to use it.

I jail broke my 2012 still going strong , battery for weeks. Can still ' send to kindle ' and any Amazon purchases just sync automatically. The only thing missing is the amazon store on device but if anything its less of a distraction. I paid £15 for it years ago 👍

I HAD a Paperwhite se 2022 but it bricked 2 days after the warranty expired, Amazon blamed me for not updating it. I went back to my 2016 Kindle this past July. That one just died on me too. Orders one of these.

I want to get the SE. I already adore the Basic, I kinda want to round out a small, double-digit collection. I'm stuck waiting for the QC issues to get sorted, however. Comparing any two units will leave one wondering why the yellow tint varies so much from one to another.

Yeah. You can set it to horizontal orientation if you want.

Well, I even dont want to upgrade. I bought my KP in 22 cuz it was the update model and I wanted to buy the also the newest Oasis when it will released.. but instead Oasis Amazon made one more paperwhite which is the same like the old one, which’s design I do t like to much either

5:07 something really minor, who cares, but the bottom corner is yellow. F this, that feels frustrating to me and I am not interested in 2024. But thanks for all the details and honest review 🙏

I have a Paperwhite 2024, and even with the colour temperature at maximum I can't see any yellow edges.

It seems really great, and in many ways I think it would be ideal for me but I'm staying away for the same reason I won't get Audible - I don't want to have anything to do with Amazon.

I’ve had nearly every Kindle since they first came out. My favorite is the Oasis model but the new Paperwhite Signature is definitely a keeper.

I understand and share your feelings and I always try to find an alternative before giving Amazon any money, They are evil. But then all big corporations are evil (otherwise they won't get big) and it's really hard to find another good e-ink reader fo this price. But you can turn of Wifi, copy your epubs via USB and have nothing to do with Amazon anymore after buying the kindle.
