Brian, you can't imagine how much i needed this today. I know my vocation. God has made it clear to me, he was so gratious. I should count myself very blessed He did so! Yet i am struggling to feel this. Next to my marriage and children, He called me to 'bring the children to Me'. And He proceeded to let things fall into place so i got into position for youth and family ministry, as well as catechist. This happened very sudden, and even though some people do NOT want me in that position. so now there is a lot of drama in the background, which is very draining to me. Long story short, this evening i have to face my first parent meeting, and i am terrified. I have to remind myself constantly that this was not my idea, but His. And that the blessed Mother did not have a clue either what she was saying 'yes' to. She just knew she can trust God.

So great material, 100% spot on. Catholic wisdom is always so deep and true…. Many protestants take the setbacks and suffering in their lives as a sign of a lack of grace, but a Catholic knows that anything comes his/her way is God’s plan to lead His sheep to salvation.

Remember when God called on Jonah to preach to pagans in Nineveh which is modern-day Mosquel Iraq, he decided to go in blame that was heading to Tarshish, to Jonah it prob didn't make since for a Jew to go the enemy which were pagans . But what did Jonah end up doing and it made sense and people and their cattle were spared the wrath of God , so God's plan made sense although to us maybe at times it doesn't .God knows what he is doing! Take a discernment class offered by your local diocese. Besides you have to be debt free and be a confirmed Catholic for at least three years before joining a religious order (that's what most religious orders ask for). So, maybe someday. Until then get a spiritual director, possibly provided to you through the discernment course, and pray about your vocation. It could just be that God likes you were you are now!

Our human minds can't comprehend the vast mass of God. He's isn't supposed to be understood. That's why we have prophets and angels. Many Protestants like the Non-denomination and Baptist churches follow simple devotion, it's easy because we don't have to do much to be saved. King Henry 8th himself said the Catholic church is strict. We must understand who God is even if we don't know how the Father looks or the Holy Spirit. Your videos make sense all the way and only people who are blind or ignorant will not agree with you, I've seen a lot of Protestants who disagree with a Catholic even though it's the same thing the Catholic said

Great message and it needs to be heard. I will say however that God does make sense as you know. It's all about staying balanced no matter what. Stay balanced even though it seems like hardship. That's because difficulty that brings correction may not seem to make sense but stay balanced because it's better than the alternative. Contemporary times have us surrounded by errant people who insist that prayer is outdated, superstitious and something that only weak people would bother with. We're modern now they say. Why remain balanced? Prayer may not seem to make sense on the surface but it keeps us stable and grounded. And, it's free of charge. No cost!?!? Plus, if you're praying, you might not have time to be poisoned by a Hollyweird movie! It keeps our minds out of the gutter. And church is boring. Go to church. But church is boring. Go to church, hear the gospel. You don't belong at the Barbee movie with the awful suggestions being dropped into your subconscious mind. Personally I like weekday Catholic mass. Shorter, less congestion and it's easier to hear what one needs to hear. I don't mind missing some of the music on weekends depending on the church. And don't worry. Church is 'boring'. Go to church. That's waaaayyy better than cluttering up with some of the craziness you might otherwise get contaminated with elsewhere. Just sayin'. Technically, if you're Catholic you have to go to Sunday mass, but if you don't like crowds, the weekdays are certainly better than not going at all. This world seems to be dragging us all down and at times it seems that evil is surely going to win. Noooo. Evil is sick resonance and concentrated imbalance. Oh the bad actors try everything in the book to psych us out, pretending that they're on the cusp of taking over - but the truth is they are so utterly imbalanced that they have horrible amounts of chaos to contend with. Just let them be on their way. All we can do is stay focused and as stable as possible. We may not have time to debate and discover the answers all at once. We may not be able to discern what the supernatural is, but we can stay balanced and that is what prayer will do for us. Oh, there are those that laugh, and scoff that you're just being stoooopid and superstitious. Best to ignore that. What will they be doing? I think we can see it all around us and I don't know about you but I'm not interested in jumping on the chaos train. The evil we indeed see may seem formidable but remember that those who are up to no good are out of balance and are actually depending on those of us who still are to try and stay focused. They are not focused. We may be praying sincerely, and what do they do? Well, they have no answers and rationalize that "all would be well" just as soon as the rest of us join their party of horrible errors. Basically, those who are in utter chaos attack religion on the basis that despicable behavior would somehow function properly if only everyone would join them. Noooo, join them and everyone ends up in chaos including you and I. So the hardest part therefore is to realize that we have to stay balanced and do our part. The world of crazeee isn't taking over anything, now is it? Tough times ahead I suspect and there is nothing else to do except pray and stay in focus. It's not so dumb and old fashioned after all! - tkra101

The trial that accompanies doing God's will is AT FIRST, it is not giving us happiness and comfort but discomfort and suffering and seems to lead us nowhere or does not give us anything good but pains. But if we do not lose our faith in God but continue to trust the wisdom and providence of God for us despite the great hardship that we feel and encounter in doing God's will, this period of suffering and uncertainty will eventually come to an end and will be replaced with great joy, peace, wisdom, strength, holiness, virtues and other graces and blessings from God! And after this time of consolation, a trial will come again to us. After that, a time of consolation again and so on and on until we become perfectly holy if we persevere to the end.

Here are the things you need to do to discover God's will for you: Every day, tell God that you renounce your own will completely and permanently in order to seek and do only His will for you. God reads your heart. He knows perfectly if your desire to seek and do His will is whole or just partial. Tell God to arrange your life according to His will, to lead you to where He wants you to go and to give you the grace to make you do only what He wants you to do. If your desire to do His will is WHOLE or with all your heart and you have no more will of your own even slightest or you are determined not to follow your own will but only God's will, then, it means whatever will happen in your life whether good or bad even the most insignificant things in your life is already God's will for you.
@marietav7342

But if God sees in your heart that your desire to follow His will is just partial or not with all your heart, it means NOT all things that will happen in your life are God's will for you but your own will. You are outside God's will every time you follow your own will.

Oftentimes, once we submit to the will of God, He will not immediately reveal our main calling because He will purify us first or He will allow us to go through different levels of purification or test of faith by means of many trials and sufferings. If we pass the trials sent to us by God and our faith is getting stronger day by day. Then, little by little, He will reveal to us our main calling or mission in this life.

I will give you an example. St. Teresa of Calcutta was called by God to become a nun at 18. That's God's calling for her at that time. For 20 years, her mission was to teach at school. After 20 years, God called her to found a religious order that will serve the poorest of the poor. Your calling every day is to do your daily duties faithfully and for the love of God and in union with Him wherever God puts you however ordinary your tasks are like cleaning a house, washing the dishes or studying if you are a student etc

I'm skeptical about this claim that "God can't get through to you unless ...". God is omnipotent. He can get through to us if it is truly His will to do so, and there is nothing we can do about it. The only thing that we can do (because we have free will) that would result in us failing to heed Him is to ignore Him or outright refuse to do as He says. But that is very different from *failing to hear Him.* God knows our hearts. If He knows that we wish to understand and do His will, He has every ability to make that will plain to us. Under those conditions, then, it is *His* choice if we do not hear Him. Abraham is a perfect example of this. God came to Abraham (named Abram at the time) and spoke to him, commanded him. Abraham didn't have to go searching for God first. It is wise to search for God, to do those things we know He wants us to do since most of those things are already written for us. But anything beyond that requires that He tell us what He wishes us to do, and to claim that He cannot do so with crystal clear clarity when He wishes is to contradict one of the fundamental claims we make about Him, that all things are possible with Him.
@CatholicTruthOfficial
@CatholicTruthOfficial 2 ай бұрын
We agree. God is all-powerful and so can do anything. Yet we understand his will more fully when we are open to it, as you said, and seek to do it. Many people don't. They don't even consider it on a day-to-day basis. And others, have too many things going on in their life, and they are burdened and bogged down with many things so they squelch the spirit and squelch the voice of God. This is why we need to have a good prayer life and take time to listen, to purify ourselves of sin, and as you said to seek his will often. The more we seek it the more he will lead and guide us.
@n2185x
@n2185x 2 ай бұрын
@@CatholicTruthOfficial I certainly agree that the more we seek God the more He will lead us and guide us. That's because we seek God in response to our heart's desire to do so, and God knows our heart, and so He will guide us more readily in response. But the rest of what you write misses the point, namely that it is *because* God is all-powerful that whether or not we properly understand His will is *independent of our own actions and viewpoint.* It doesn't matter how bogged down we are with things in life, if God wishes us to understand His will then we *will* understand His will and that's pretty much that. To answer in any other manner to this is to contradict the claim of omnipotence on the part of God. Our will determines whether we will act on God's guidance. That is independent of whether we *understand* His guidance in the first place. The latter is fully in His hands, *not* ours. Again, to claim otherwise is to claim that God isn't truly omnipotent. Let me put it another way: if another human being can get through to us for *anything,* despite what's going on in our lives, then so too can God (God could do so even if nobody else could, of course). And people get through to us with clarity all the time irrespective of what we have going on, because we're always interacting with others even in the busiest of times. But will He? That is up to Him, and *only* Him.

GOD MAKES SENSE TO ME. 😀
@n2185x
@n2185x 2 ай бұрын
The problem here isn't in trusting God, it's in *knowing* that what we're being told to do is coming from Him and not something else. Many, *many* people have done terrible things and claimed that they were following God's direction. Is it your claim here, then, that they heard the voice of God? I doubt it. And yet, at least some of them truly believed that it *was* God's voice they heard. What you're failing to account for is that if God is telling us to do something that "doesn't make sense", it is entirely within His power to *make* it make sense. That has nothing to do with our free will -- we are still free to choose to follow His direction or not, irrespective of whether or not it's something that makes sense to us. It has everything to do with how we would *evaluate* the directions we've been given. So even with respect to this claim that God will tell us to do things that "don't make sense", I'm skeptical. For Him to insist that we do things that "don't make sense" means that it failing to make sense to us must *of itself* have specific purpose behind it, precisely because God is perfectly capable of causing it to make sense to us if He so chooses. What thoughts do you have about that, Bryan? I'm very very curious.
@CatholicTruthOfficial
@CatholicTruthOfficial 2 ай бұрын
We also agree with aspects of your comment here. God would never ask us to do anything sinful, so the people who do terrible things to others in the name of God clearly are not listening to God but themselves. And that is a big problem. This also comes from not having a deep prayer life or not being in the truth. Or both. What we are talking about is God's will and our day-to-day life. Vocation, taking a job, and other things like that. We also agree that it's entirely in God's power to help things make sense. But that doesn't mean they will right away. We still have to use our natural reason as well and not throw it out the window. For example, if I feel God calling me to a job, but I'm not sure if it's this job or that job, I have a duty to check them both out and compare my skills to them, see which would be better for my family, and consider them both in prayer. We are not saying that God normally calls us to things outside of the ordinary, or things that don't make sense, but we have to be open to the possibility that he does especially in the spiritual life. One example I can give is starting Catholic truth. Dark night of the soul, or rather a dark night of my own stupidity. My wife and I were going through a very difficult time financially, and I had three different jobs possibilities. And also considering starting Catholic truth with no money and no money coming in. I got offered a full-time job as a teacher in a high school teaching religion. Obviously that would be the sensible thing since I needed a job, but Catholic Truth and starting a Ministry for God was the only thing I slightly felt called to. Now, obviously not taking the full-time job would be ridiculous and not the sensible action, yet I followed where God led despite it not making sense and not knowing how it was going to turn out. Of course, if it blew up in my face, I would know that it wasn't from him and I would have to recalibrate. Which we have to do sometimes. But I felt in my heart that I wasn't supposed to take that other job, much to my wife's anger and not being very happy about that. I told her that I have to follow where I think God is leading even if he isn't. Up until that point, I had 400 KZbin subscribers in 4 years. So I told him I would give him a chance to see if it was from him. If it grew I would continue with it if not I would do something else. We went from 400 to 6000 subscribers that year. And then 6,000 to 15,000 and grew exponentially. I also had an offer for a job many years before the religious education director. I didn't really want to do it and didn't even know how to do it, but I felt God was calling me. I even put the application on the refrigerator and forgot about it because it wasn't something I wanted. Months later I found it when I was cleaning and I still felt called to fill it out even though I knew they'd probably fill the job. And because I felt called to it, I just did it and ended up getting the job because they said they had been praying for months and still hadn't found the right person. So what we think doesn't always dictate what God thinks. This is why the most important aspect is prayer and discernment on what we think God's asking of us. Not emotionalism. Also seeking advice from holy spiritual directors is good too.

If a person is getting out of his sins and growing in holiness, virtues and wisdom continuously, it means his life is inside the will of God or he is doing God's will for him. @@CatholicTruthOfficial > God would never ask us to do anything sinful, so the people who do terrible things to others in the name of God clearly are not listening to God but themselves. Careful with this. Remember that God instructed the Israelites to kill women, children, and infants in 1 Samuel 15:3. Absent knowledge that God indeed did command that, we would regard this as murder, and yet that is precisely what God commanded Saul to do by way of Samuel. So you simply cannot truly proclaim that those who do terrible things are not listening to God but to themselves. We would *like* to believe that, yes, but the claims of the Bible make that belief uncertain at best. In light of that, how are we to know that it is God and not something else that is attempting to command us? *This* is why what God tells us must make sense. Anything that doesn't raises grave doubts about the source of the command. And where there is that kind of uncertainty about anything we're told to do, the correct game theoretic move is for us to not heed it. If we fail to do God's will as a consequence of it not making sense, God will *know why* we didn't do it, and if He truly wishes us to do it anyway then He will *make* it make sense, thus relieving the uncertainty. On the other hand, if we act upon the command and it turns out to have not come from God, then we might well wind up doing something with terrible consequences that God did not tell us to do. *That* is why the correct game theoretic move is to do those things that God tells us to do only when they make sense and are consistent with the characteristics of God that the Church teaches us -- because it keeps our actions on the side of good as much as reasonably possible. > We also agree that it's entirely in God's power to help things make sense. But that doesn't mean they will right away. They'll make sense right away if God wants them to. That's the point. God is omnipotent. What God *truly* wants, God gets, period, precisely because He is omnipotent, and any claim to the contrary amounts to a contradiction with the claim of omnipotence. I try to make a clear distinction between God's will (i.e. what He truly *wants* ) and God's preferences (i.e., what He would like to see as long as something flowing from His will doesn't have to be contradicted for it). Here, that we have free will is God's will. Our free will makes it possible for us to decide things in a way that conflicts with God's preferences. When we are listening to God and heeding what He says, we are acting on God's preferences. If what He said were something beyond His preference and actually extended to His will, then what He said would actually come to pass irrespective of our choices. That's what it *means* to be omnipotent. Think of God's will as being the equivalent of the laws of physics. They cannot be broken, cannot be contravened, no matter what we might attempt to do. The nature of omnipotence demands this. God's preferences are different -- they can be broken or contravened by our choices.

@@marietav7342 > If a person is getting out of his sins and growing in holiness, virtues and wisdom continuously, it means his life is inside the will of God or he is doing God's will for him. If he hardly improves in spiritual life, it means his life is outside the will of God and he is doing his own will even if he thinks he is following Gods will for him. I agree in principle. The real question is: how exactly are you measuring this? Better still, how are we to measure this with respect to ourselves? Just because we may think we're growing in holiness, virtuousness, and wisdom doesn't mean we actually are. There are plenty of self-deluded people out there who are existence proofs of this. > I am 100% SURE of my life being inside the will of God and that I am obeying His will for me and I know the truth. Why? Because I am CONTINUOUSLY getting out of my sins and growing in holiness, virtues and wisdom by Gods grace. Praise God! I most certainly hope and pray that is the case! We can only do our best on these things. God understands our limits, and so any concern I have for failing to do His will as a result of my limitations is only because I really wish to do His will in a perfect manner -- something that isn't achievable but is always good to strive for.

New ages followers says that Christianity comes from Egyptian or Greco-Roman mythology, or Christians celebrate the winter solstice, or they are idolaters, or that Christianity was invented by a single man. : the apostle Paul, etc.,. There is only one answer to give to them : the simplicity and clarity of the Gospel. These people should stop worrying with all kinds of absurd inventions, and their own imagination and rather read and laern the Gospel, the Saints and the doctors of the Church. Only then will they understand the Truth for themselves and the Truth will set them free.

@@alisterrebelo9013 My comment is an invitation to read the bible on your own asking the Holy Spirit for guidance to follow the mesaage IN context with Holy scripture (not out of context) I do not have any gain on this. I'm not asking to follow me or any specific man made religion but the (only) way, the truth and the life, JESUS CHRIST. Religion twists and stretches scripture at will to manipulate people and grow in numbers. Ultimately in power. Apostle paul himself DID NOT seek to be the head of no church because he knew that the head of the christian church is Jesus Christ and the body of the christian church are all the followers of Jesus Christ (JOHN 3:16 GOD'S WORD). But again, catholic church is catholic church. Not christian church. So you can follow all your leaders with all their doctrine.

@@brunofuentes7915 Do you submit yourself to any pastor or church or congregation? Or are you a Bible only Christian? Inviting me to have my own interpretation is like asking me to follow my own will not the Will of God.
