And they were BAD! Usually thick lines in blue-green ink and that was all. I think it depends where you are, but stigma around tattoo has seen a LOT of improvement. I work in schools and kids are amazed at my tattoos, I go around classes and they ask me question and I answer them, the teachers like that I take the time and yeah, they all find them beautiful
@zombiezoo8373 жыл бұрын
It really is up to the person hiring. I have both hands, including all my fingers and 2 sleeves (along with many others) and I work in a school as a pastoral mentor (behaviour management). I do think that men with tattoos get a bit more prejudice in the work place or when it comes to getting jobs than women. All my tattoos are colourful, cute and girly and so maybe I don't appear as 'threatening' as some males do. Not my opinion by the way, just a thought. All I will say is that the decision to tattoo my hands was a game changer. I have been treated differently by some but that's a them problem, I'm not remotely bothered. I also worked in education for a good 10 years before getting my hands done. I've worked in over 30 schools and only 2 have ever asked me to cover my tattoos (this was before I had any on my hands). It doesn't bother me having to cover them because I think it's incredibly naive to think that won't ever happen. Mainly though, I have been told that my tattoos make me more relatable to some kids. For anyone reading this, before you commit to hand or neck tattoos, make sure that you can work in your chosen field with them and also accept that you will be turned away now and then. It's just how it is. Just don't have the attitude that it's your life and if society doesn't accept you then that's not your fault blah blah blah. The harsh reality is that we all need to make a living and you'd be very silly to think otherwise. As long as your job accepts them and your job makes you happy then all is good! One last point I want to make is that it's not usually the tattoos that are a problem to an employer, it's your decision making skills. If you want a face tattoo for example, an employer may judge you solely on the act of getting it done rather than the tattoo itself. They may think that you lack good judgement and are too impulsive and so if the job you want requires lots of planning and problem solving and patience you simply won't be deemed a good candidate. Again, not my opinion at all. I do wish we lived in a world when tattoos didn't cause any issues but they do so we have to work around that if we want to succeed.

Bro you can’t blame a tattooist for a finger or hand tattoo fading….. hands and fingers and notoriously known for fading out….you also work in construction which means your hands are always mobile… plus hands and fingers need touching up a lot it all depends on the person.. some skin types hold ink way better then others…… a 3rd time pass on your hands will prob make the ink hold better then the first couple of times especially the first time. So it’s not really the tattooist fault….. a forearm tattoo will hold way better then a hand tattoo…

He tattooed the hand with black ink first, stopped for a few minutes to let it settle, then went over it again. Same thing for the orange and red ink. Got my elbow done yesterday as well.

I have my hands and my neck blasted out and I’ve never had a problem getting a decent job. I also know how to carry myself and I dress conservative when need be. I work in the medical field, and everybody I work with has visible tattoos. If you know how to dress and you dress well, people tend to look over the visible tattoos.

Yep can say with confidence that I love my hand tattoo but it’s the first thing people notice . It’s nothing offensive a really big flower with a snake but it’s definitely something people look at a lot and I get lots of compliments but still .

People always look at my hand/finger tattoos as well (and everything else). And maybe I'm just being naive, but I assume most of them are interested, curious, appreciative. For the rest, it's just becoming normalised to them. There will come a point where hand and face tattoos are commonplace. In the mean time, I think we have to be the ones who behave 'as if' it's normal.

I’m 16 and I’m ngl I started a tattoo collection after years of looking body art. What made me really want it was seeing peep in 2016 being young and covered. ATM I have a shroom on my arm , and a crescent moon on my neck. I live in a area where’s job don’t care but I’m saving for my hands. But no face tats only on my temple or if it’s a scar tattoo.
@tylerkielb5993 жыл бұрын
Do yourself a favor man, get the shroom covered up, don’t get any pot leaf tattoos or anything like that either. I had so many friends growing up who had shrooms and pot leafs and all that. Now their older and look like losers, I’m telling you, don’t do it. But it’s you’re call

Thank you for this video! I got my first hand tattoo a few days ago and my mom thinks it is beautiful, but the first thing she asked about was work. I told her I'm not worried bc they don't care as long as there is nothing offensive or gang related of course. I also told her that there's a few people I work with who have full sleeves and she kinda calmed down a little and focused on the beauty lol 😆 I hope you're doing well!

I got my hand done and it took two hours and covered most of my hand down to the middle of my fingers on each one. It was painful I ain't gona lie. I didn't tap out but I sure did grind my teeth quite a bit. I almost flinched my hand twice away but I knew if I did I would fuck my piece up and piss off the artist. The tattoo was so worth it. I'm hesitant on getting my other hand done, But I know I will eventually because tattoos are addicting.

Omg!!!!!! I just said the same thing yesterday I got my hand done yesterday, and I already had one on my finger at another shop and the FIRST THING I NOTICED was how much more it hurt this time (and also agree that the pain was reassuring me that it was being done correctly) and it definitely hurt lol an easy 7/8 out of 10

Was watching videos of people getting their hand tattoos done because im planning to fully cover my hands soon and came across your video. And i love hearing the thing about people looking at your hands being a big deal because i have 6 face tattoos and a 1 & 1/8 inch stretched labret piercing so people always just stare at my face which makes it easy to conversate haha maybe now theyll start looking at my hands instead? 😂

I'm an old girl, 50 something, i got my first three tattos this year, i love all of them, two on my wrists, one somewhere else. My tatto artist said the same that it would hurt like fuck on my hand and that it would fade after few years, so i took her advice and didn't get my hand inked. My tattos were painless, slight scratchy feeling, and tiny bit stingy . My son got his first tattoo at 16, i wasn't happy but couldn't be mad cos it said mum. Glad you made this video cos ill def not be getting my hands done ,,,,, maybe lol.. love from Ireland xx

Keep a medical glove over it while working if possible will keep it form getting messed up after healing etc. Fingers do fade it’s just one of those things. We use our hands for everything so ya know. I have to get my kids name on the side of my hand refilled went over again. My guy will hit up my finger just because. It looks fine which is amazing considering how they fade. In October I’m getting my other full hand done. The guy is an amazing artist so hopefully everything will work out as far as fading etc.
