I came back to playing after a long (probably 15 year!) break last year and quickly fell back into the same old habits and noodling patterns without feeling like I was making progress. Really pleased to discover your lessons Eric - the Guitar Zen and CAGED lessons have stuck with me and made me think outside the box that I'd sealed myself into for years. Your approach to teaching really works for the way my brain is wired - thanks!

Sweet!! Hey Eric we play She Sells Sanctuary in our band and i play the verses semi palm muted subtly tied to a Bo Diddley rhythm & to me it unlocks the song. It Is everywhere.

This is excellent. As always. I would love a run through how you’re getting tone both pedals and amp setting and why. I have a Gretsch historic series same colour. Such a fun guitar. Just has its own thing going on but the tone shaping can be tricky, Loving your CAGED course fyi, will defo do the rest !

Saw Bo Diddly at the Coogee Oceanic, back in the early 70s, when they had bands on on Saturday afternnoons , like Brian Johnson in Geordie, and Blackfeather, great days. I need a Delorian.

Inspired me to try Jeepster, even though it’s the outlier here ;) If yiu run out of ideas, trying to learn “Fitted Shirt” by Spoon. Watching a live a performance, and I can’t figure out how he’s muting w/left hand in that position, and my right hand is certainly wrong. It’s a good strum and odd beat ;)

Literally some of the most useful guitar videos I have come across in the past few years, you’re literally the Dude! I was wondering how you pair this up with a metronome so that I can work on my timing though? I think working on a 4/4 timing while doing this triplet thing is throwing me off

That Gretsch sounds awesome. Of course, your tele and mustang sound great as well. Wonder if you were surprised by the Gretsch? I remember you saying a few years ago that you are not a humbucker guy. I know, I know, those aren't humbuckers, but they are their own flavor of a humbucker.
@EricHaugenGuitar3 ай бұрын
I’m definitely on team clean humbucker these days. The smoother attack and increased sustain is a nice change from all my snappy Fenders
