Depressive episodes are the hardest but recovering from them is the best feeling
@risika2 жыл бұрын
I heard in a podcast that said, “it’s important to live life by design rather than emotion. Basically, sticking to a routine is what allows us to be the healthiest version of ourselves (especially when you're fighting these demons ex. OCD for me). I’ve had to overhaul how I approach taking care of my brain (exercise, journaling, studying etc) by practising mediocre consistency. Now I try to put in consistent 40-60% effort into my journaling habit - to make sure I do it I began recording it and posting it on my yt channel. After a really bad depression phase I started to believe I couldn’t change and I’d feel that horrible forever. Historically I have a habit of going too hard, not being able to sustain the Herculean effort, giving up and hating myself. So now I’m trying to give a small, consistent mediocre effort everyday. And its crazy how it adds up. I’m still figuring out how to be a person again, reintegrate into society but right now I have a solid foundation that I’ve never had before.

in a world of "highlights" and instagram models who rarely show weaknesses, i adore you for showing that yes, bad times do happen to people, and yes, the emotional curve has ups and downs. i really appreciate the transparency in this video and i think i was headed towards a big burn out, i have my midterms in a few weeks and lots assignments, you know, nothing out of the norm. but i think i'll take your advice and actually take it easier, otherwise my insomnia will actually kill me. cheers

These months I have been dealing with a small depressive episode, and watching these types of videos from time to time helps me get motivated again, but I must admit that this one in specific felt like a hug, one that no one has given me in a long time. Reading all the comments makes me so happy. I've been through a rough couple of months, I've even thought about an attempt again(iykyk) because I'm not where I thought I should be already so reading all the comments makes me Realize we are all in this together. It's funny how when we feel down, we feel so alone but in reality we are never going through something alone and I need to remind myself this quite often. Also, thank you Rebecca! Your content is something else!you show your productive and positive side but you also show when you feel down and you know those normal human emotions and showing them makes me feel and I'm pretty sure others as well "normal". So I wanted to thank you for everything and I hope we both feel better soon💗:)love you

For me. A lot of my mental health issues stem from all of chaos going on in this world right now, but I have to quickly try and focus on the positive and the good im that’s going on right now in my life. Another thing is environmental factors. Being stuck in the same environment all the time doesn’t work for everyone so it’s good to take a drive someplace new, or take a walk somewhere you’ve never been before because seeing and doing the same thing everyday depresses me. I’m one of those people who seek adventure and love traveling to new places and have to see different things. But with gas prices being so high now, I try not to complain so much to my parents because I understand that we can’t always go out and do something fun. So I have to get into my own element at home and find things to do inside the house so I’m not so bored. Eventually you just used to being a homebody and doing the same thing everyday. I mean I’m content but i feel like I could be happier. I don’t know if anyone else feels this way or not.

This touched me in a special way. Its nice to see im not alone in my day to day struggle with sadness and depression. Ive been struggling with a hopeless situation for years now that has caused me to be in an almost constant state of crippling anger, resentment, and feelings of inadequacy. Ive made it through two whole years of college in spite of the constant distraction. At some moments, its been a moment by moment struggle to concentrate on anything else, but ive made it and will be graduating next semester. Hope well all have happier days soon.

When I am low, like really low, I try to keep the house tidy, take a nap, watch at least an hour of a show but no more, have a long bath with all the luxury feels, eat at least 2 pieces of fruit and drink a bottle of water. And communicate with somebody. Also, bullet journalling has been helpful during the forgetfulness of the depressive episodes.

I do the same things everyday and I never get outside enough I'm always tired and depressed my social anxiety is never helping this made me feel more confident about myself and I feel like I want to make my life better and put in a little more effort everything in the house I live in is messy because I make it that way and I feel too depressed or discouraged to do it. So I'm going to try to do a little bit more tonight thank you for this. :)
