In South Africa 🇿🇦, we use them off-road. Geländewagen means "terrain vehicle," after all. 😊 The fact that others buy it for the wrong reasons, doesn't make it a bad off-roader (Nick, it isn't a SUV!). Getting my G400d Schökl next week, one of the last ones before the 2025 G450d arrives. 243kW and 700Nm. It will be used extensively in the rocky Richtersveld and Kgalagadi deserts, in the Karoo desert regions and in the mountains of South Africa. No, it isn't a Constantia Cruiser. It still is hand-built, hand welded from stainless steel, has three diff-locks that can be ENGAGED WHILE ON THE GO, oodles of torque, excellent traction control and proper low range. At a sensible 60mph/100km/h, fuel consumption is 10l/100km. As I am a wildlife photographer in my sixties, likely the last personal car I'll ever buy. My friend's 1981 280GE is still as new and he did a 5,000mile desert excursion earlier this year. Utterly reliable.

We like our 2024 G450d as a daily driver and as a long highway holiday cruiser and also for little offroad trips and even as a minicamper with a popup sleeping platform - for us an allrounder. With the 450d Diesel engine we have an overall consumption of 8,2 L / 100km which is a positive surprise. Only the turning circle could be better...and yes with over 145kmh speed the windnoises are getting louder. We have the cheapest ( Professional ) Line together with dark-olice paint and night package which at my opinion ( see our shorts) makes the G look like a G should look

I would love one, but I think my days of going off road are done and I no longer have to drive on snowy days if I don’t want to, so I think I’m heading for a gle 450 phev I. The new year. The G wagon was my dream for about 20 years but I’ve aged out

I am waiting for my EQB AMG line premium plus to be delivered. If you squint real hard it’s almost like a smaller G-wagon.😂 It certainly drives like a dream and its €50k cheaper than what you’re driving here. All blacked out with the 20” black spoke wheels, so some kind of a statement I guess. Still not cheap by any means. Keep it up with the videos, I just (finally) subscribed

Taste is definitely subjective. I personally find the G Wagon hideous but the "NPOLEARY" plate has elevated you to "Baller Status!" Not sure if that translates, so let me just say it's a good thing! 😎

Hi Nick, love this! Doing some work with a football club at the moment and the car park is full of G63’s! I’ve always liked them, my boss hates them, but I do think Mercedes could have had an exterior re-design over the years and softened the edges 🤔

This does have keyless entry and a touchscreen as shown in the video. Mercedes haven’t said anything about releasing a 2025 model so I guess you could call it that as it will be sold going into 2025.

I’ve had 2 GlC 300 SUV’s back to back and I love them, I’ll get another in 2027. Love the quality and performance. Can’t really figure out what the market is for this type of vehicle, obviously not off-road.

It was your review of one about the time my finger was hovering over the order button that made me press go. No sadly not although I have seen a couple of settings on some models that allow you to view snapshots if the alarm goes off. Not sure what models it’s on though. I’m hoping that if I get a car from them again I can have linked to my account so I can check it out 🤓

@@npoleary INEOS is new G class Professional. Co-developed by Magna-Steyr , the ones that have made G class _ Puch. No BS fancy gadgets, unnecessary electronics, it looks like an offroader, it is an offroader. My prediction, few yr and it will be very popular. G class is NO purpose vehicle. Also the new Defender & LC250 are NOT what they were. I watched several yours videos , I love them, you made me buy new Marco Polo ( instead INEOS ) & new A180. I like INEOS, I drove one, watched all the videos from AUS, from expert. not this EU fancy test drives.

Off roading capabilities are very very good! I sadly don’t know it’s complete capability off road so a bit beyond me. Happy to learn though if Mercedes have an event showcasing it! 👀 For everyday day use though I’d say it’s very overpriced in my own opinion. But that’s what it’s about, Lamborghini’s and supercars are used in cities like London where you can’t drive fast…. So….more of a statement piece And it works, it turns heads! 😅

They don’t here in the UK They have offers, from time to time but every dealer has one price between them. So if an offer is on, they all get it. And they can’t change it. I’ve heard of over sticker prices in other countries and dealer markups etc which is just plain wrong. Thankfully it does not happen here at all. *On new anyway!

It looks fine for an all terrain vehicle, it wouldn’t make sense to have ultra premium materials or a layout like an S class for example. I get what you mean though, it is jarring especially for the price 💰💰

@@npoleary you should know from other comments this guy just simple hates Mercedes, however obviously watches enough merc videos. So many hate what they can’t have. Whether A class or G wagon all Mercedes interiors are second to none. The G wagon interior wouldnt be my favourite interior in a merc, but bearing in mind the type of car the gw is the dash is understated, door panels suit the type of car and look unique to the g wagon. Another great honest review.
