@@Landeetoe a younger man. Technically you could call any man a “lad” but it's most often used for people somewhere between a teenager and mid to late twenties. It can also sometime be used to describe a certain type of younger person, most typically when used as “lad culture” which are the sort of guys who are quite loud and brash and pull practical jokes on people that aren't actually practical jokes, it's just them being a twat and then claiming “it's just bants” (“bants” is short for banter/having a laugh/joke). I was using it just to mean younger guys.

I am a Brit living in the Philippines at Jollibee is by far the number 1. For me their burgers are better than McDo and their chicken ( love the spicy chicken ) is better than KFC. Their best burger is the Champ Burger, I love the Alhola Champ Burger, it has a slice of pineapple and the relish is ace. The peach and mango pies are delish, sadly they are half the size of the ones sold in UK, saying that the Jollibees in the Philippines are a fraction of the price compared to UK.

Bit of an interesting thing, they use banana ketchup, just for context for everyone not aware, the Philippines had a shortage of tomatoes. So they substituted the sheer amount of tomatoes needed with Bananas hence the term "Banana ketchup" however it isn't really ketchup. So if there are any Italians the Filipinos did this more out of desperation and necessity and while they don't really need to do it now, do be considerate that once something hits the category of traditional or part of a culture. There really isn't a reason to change it. I am not of Filipino descent but I love history.

I have been to Philippines many times and eaten Jollibee, the spaghetti is great, the burgers are good too , the restaurants are always packed, sometimes i wait with my wife for 40 plus minutes until we receive our food, but its worth the wait, burger steak on its own is a little different but enjoyable, fries are good, McDonalds and KFC also serve spaghetti, i guess its just a Philippines thing..

It's hot dog in the spaghetti, the burgers (in the US versions) are okay, but a seen here need more of the meat. The chicken, if you are looking for KFC taste, it's not there, but it is IMHO better. One thing I found traveling around SE Asia is they know how to fry chicken.

I commented somewhere else here in more detail, but spaghetti came to that country via the ration packs of American soldiers during WWII. That's why Filipino spaghetti is more of an Italian-American style (including sometimes having the extra very American hotdogs included) rather than the style of pasta from Italy. It also gained the sweeter sauce due to a crop shortage of tomatoes (during or after the war sometime) requiring banana ketchup to be used as the pasta sauce instead of tomato-based sauce. And yeah, they even have it at their McDonalds.

My Jollibee's rating would be about a 7. I have eaten there in the Philippines and in America. Maybe you caught them on a good day. The peach/mango pie did look very good as did the chicken sandwich.

We tried it in Cardiff. To say it was lacking from the door inwards is an understatement. We left most of what we ordered. Our complaint to the company was washed over. We have voted with our feet and will never cross a Jolibee doorway again. We love Asian food. I could have written a book as to how bad it was. Anyone reading, its in the former Burger King near M&S on Queen Street. Dinner cost us double that night (but the Italian, near the Market was fantastic).

Sadly, like a lot of fast food, it's just very inconsistent. I've been to the Jolibee in Leeds a few times and on at least one of those occasions the food was terrible, but other times I enjoyed and could see the appeal over KFC.
