In Bengali, samosas are called shingaras btw. And in south asia, as you already know cuisines aren't separated by countries, but rather ethnicities. You can find a slightly different bengali cuisine in west bengal in India for example. Also, if you haven't already please try the bangaldeshi restaurant Aladin in LA, it's the best bengali and bangladeshi food in the western US.

Fried eggplants and fish fries are eaten usually with Khichuri, its a lentil and jasmine rice meal. Also the beef chana is eaten as breakfast with parata in many places in Bangladesh.

All the vegetable, fish and curry dishes are typically eaten with plain white rice and side of daal. You usually mix the curry or vegetable with the white rice, put a little daal and then eat everything together...Otherwise it’s too overwhelming on their own.

Thanks for trying our food..we are very fascinated about our food. Just one feedback...we eat all our curry ( like eggplant fry, fish or daal) along with plain rice. The plain rice is like a blank canvas and curry puts colour to it. If you try the curry separately it won't taste as good as it supposed to be. Thanks!

One info as a Bangladeshi to any foreigner who wants to try Bangladeshi cuisine: Bangladeshi cuisine is not meant to eat on its own. What I mean is that the curry and the other fish, meat and vegetable items you saw they are eaten with plain rice. So when you taste them without rice or any kind of ruti (bread) you won't get the complete taste of the cuisine and how it feels like when eating with rice with our hand. The snacks (shingara, somucha), desserts, mughlai items, street foods, biriyani, kabab etc etc these things are normally eaten alone without any additional rice or bread.

Nice to see that you actually tried authentic Bangladeshi food! The only thing that wasn't very authentic was the fried chicken. Bangladeshis generally don't make fried chicken, we prefer roast chicken. Also, you mentioned a couple times how the food is similar to Indian food. That's because India and Bangladesh are neighbours and actually used to be one country. West Bengal in India also has similar cuisine to Bangladesh I heard. 😊

Cool video after watching this video i went to have Bangladesh and Indian food the food taste was good but you said Indian food taste same but Indian was kinda more spicy and taste was more Spices also most of them are veg but all the food was delicious specially some sweets and kacci , halim , cui jal and beef curry these food was available in my here the Indian food that i like most is nan and tandori fish 😋
