@@333Lovelylaura My underneath hair was straggly down to between my shoulder blades but I had like a big gap to next length which sort of finished shoulder level and was like a step effect. Anyway I did it!! I'm really pleased and it has come out really well, think it probably needs a little tweaking but overall a huge improvement. It has definitely stayed curlier and hasn't got so frizzy on the ends since I did it, and the shape looks so much better. I took about 2 or 3" off and it was really easy using this method. Give it a go - perhaps take 1" off to start with if you're not feeling brave, can always go back and take more off

@@apara2005 I say that to myself all the time-just be happy I have hair since my sister suffers from alopecia. It doesn’t matter though. I always get curl envy especially when I’m on day 4 or 5 of not washing. 😃

For anyone watching this and going to try it, you are supposed to tie the hair down lower, at the level of your eyebrows. Your hair looks great though.

My understanding is that you tie the ponytail straight forward from the ears. So depending on your face that could either come to your eyes or lower or higher. I have quite a large forehead so for me it’s above my eyebrows. For someone with a short forehead it would probably come over their eyes 😃 or anything in between

@@MarisasCurls I'm not sure a high hairline would stop you bringing the ponytail down but you know you. I just remember watching Brad do a reaction video where he cringed at someone having it too high on the forehead. Oh well it all worked out.

Wow, it looked beautiful with your curl pattern once it dried! I have thick wavy hair and my hairstylist gave me what I can now charitably refer to as a “quarter mullet” for most of high school, and I think I’d be too scared to end up with that result to try the butterfly cut, but you truly rock it!

I just did this last week! My hair turned out beautifully, although I was a little too conservative in how much I cut, but I was going by the rule "better to cut too little than too much" 😅 I'm going to give it a trim in a couple of weeks. Your hair looks lovely!

Haha love that. What I find is this gives an amazing basis for the cut with nice even layers and then I tend to tweak it afterwards by cutting any curls that need it when it’s dry and styled 😃
