WoW ! I've never known pastels to look so good on paper. I guess smudging to disperse it and give it a smooth finish makes a huge difference rather than the harsh lines pastels, crayons and even colour pencils usually give. I must say, even the portrait you thought looked bad, was actually very nice. You're a very talented artist and I wish I was skilled like you or even knew the secrets and tricks of the trade with fine art. Well done 🤩👌

You can get those tiny itty bitty silicone/rubber tipped tools to blend small details. AND you can tap a little oil pastel on them to apply Sennelier in fine sharp detail since we cant really get them to that nice sharp point. They make those tools specifically for oil pastels, but i just buy the same exact ones only marketed as sculpture tools and they are SOOOO much cheaper!🤣🤣🤣🤣
@YolandaBlazquez11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip! Although I have of of those little ones for sculpting and it didn’t work for me 🥲 it didn’t deposit any paint but maybe I should try a different brand or something. What you describe is something I often do with a paper stump though

Like most commenters, my initial reaction is to tell you how talented you are, but being an artist myself, I know better! Your ability is the result of hours and hours and hours of practice, and it shows! This portrait is absolutely amazing ! I didn't know that it was possible for oil pastels to work this well! I wish Sennelier and other art supply companies would give away products to those of us who watch these KZbin videos, and are just starting to learn how to use them. Cheap oil pastels are so dry compared to the professional grade ones... It makes it very difficult to learn!

Hi Yolanda that painting is beautiful. I could not imagine it working so well on grey paper. I thought " What is she doing?" I thought there was nothing wrong with the first one and the I saw. NOPE being written across her, poor thing! 😂😂 on the white paper and saw you going for the grey paper I thought his should be interesting and believe me it is. I'm amazed at how well the grey paper worked. Shows how much I know! I'm learning something new every day and this looks stunning. And I now that you know very well what you're doing. ❤ It's amazing. You are gifted. I love watching what you do. Thank you for sharing this. I never tried oil pastels before. I have them but wasn't quite sure what to do with them and what kind of paper to use them and actually this is the first time I saw a pad made for oil pastels. I didn't think they were available. So that's something I learned too today. I enjoyed the unboxing. I love to see new art Supplies and what's out there. You just inspired me Yolanda. God bless you . Much love Susan. 👍💕💕🇮🇪🙏🙏🙏🎨❤❤❤
