Finally, something wired! 😬 What's your favorite type of switch? Any future upgrades?
@xenius77703 жыл бұрын
Cherry Viola switches seems to be pretty good both for gaming and typing while being quieter than Brown for a low cost, i like those and hope they're going to be more and more used

Great review and I appreciate switching between the browns and violas a few times to hear the difference. The keyboard is now GBP75, or GBP70 with FNDDGAMING

Got it "refurbished" from Scan for just £40. 🙂 I don't play games much, I just wanted a decent keyboard. I am sure my current Logitech K120 (£17) is a fake because the lettering started wearing off the keys after only 1 week of use, but even if it was real, it's a membrane keyboard, not mechanical. Enough is enough!

If you actually do want to know for future reference at any point, they are pretty stiff at first but gradually loosen up over time. if you don't type vertically over the keyboard then the keys will start to get wobbly over time and will rub giving a grindy/sticky feeling on your most pressed keys. The board is also a little compact for a gaming keyboard. I bought the k60 which is why I'm able to tell you this. Some of the keys ended up repeating letters after like 3 1/2 months with constant use. I don't think the repeats were caused by water damage because I had kept the board fairly clean and the glitching wasn't going on at anywhere near the time when any water was present. I never bashed it or hit it so it was disappointing to see the cherry keys having issues sure early in . I don't think it was the corsair keyboard itself because it would still conduct the signal correctly if I mashed the key down . I'd say you dodged a bullet by buying the apex 7 tkl instead.

I have the k60 pro se and this keyboard looks different then mine. The enter button is different and the keys look wider. If you look at the box in the beginning of the video that is what mine looks like, the keyboard out of the box is different

That's because he's using a different variant of the keyboard for Europe. He mentions it right at the beginning of the video.

Did it get any quiter? Because I just got one and while I like the very smooth touch of the keys, te springy noise will probably drive me mad! But I also got a Logitech G915 TKL and well, I miss the num pad, and the keys are oddly shaky... Feels like a cheap keyboard, but it is much quieter than the Corsair.
@Erdinc_B Жыл бұрын
@@JeanV1986 Yes it worked well. The spring noise reduced with all of this mods. And i placed a female type-c to the cable exit with a compitable motherboard cable.

Have you tried lubing these switches yet? I'm thinking of lubing my K60 se, but because the switches are physically built different I was wondering if lubing is still possible. Thanks :D
@masonreppeto8823 жыл бұрын
@@2muchcarnage876 I broke mine and apparently you can't buy the cherry viola key switches yet and there are no replacement switches that use the same socket. I made sure to search which keyboards could handle more than a few drops of water for my next purchase because after looking at this one I saw that there is literally no protection against water on the k60 specifically. And if you have to take out a switch absolutely do not try to pry it out with anything other than a switch puller because it will break the internals very easily............... it broke easily :D.
@2muchcarnage8763 жыл бұрын
@@masonreppeto882 damn! I was really hoping I could get them to be lubed a little haha. If they end up selling them separately I might reconsider, but for now I shall wait :')
@masonreppeto8822 жыл бұрын
@@2muchcarnage876 I found out the fix for my switches and bent back the pins for the keys so it works now. yes they can be lubed which will help with the incessant rubbing of the switches however the real issue was compressing them too long which ends up bending the flexible conducting copper pins too much. I don't know what testing cherry did for this switch but they did not do a compression test that's for sure.

Why you make tech videos when you dont get many views.
@YoViewer3 жыл бұрын
And not every viewer is interested in watching every product.
@MattsPaddock3 жыл бұрын
Because I like trying out new tech related products, and I've been a tech journalist for over 10 years writing for different publications. I have a really curious nature, and I like to try out everything that runs on electricity and thinks with zeros and ones. The reason why I'm not getting a lot of views from day 1 release of the video because I'm a really small channel, but generally speaking I do get decent amount of views after some time, that can be seen on other tech videos on my channel. Of course not every viewer is interested in every single piece of content, that's completely normal, we all have our own things that we love to check out.
