yes it is ten time worse than in Ukraine and kids died everyday over there, it sadden me that western media has forget about it but when a few Ukranian kids died every person in the west especially America got angry and ready to fight for Ukraine but literally thousands or kids died in Syria but nobody cares. :(

This is a very bittersweet video as a Syrian raised in Europe, but having family strongly affected by the war. I actually teared up watching this, thinking of all my trips to Syria. This war is and was truly a stain on our hearts. I send all my prayers to recover the prosperity and history that these beautiful countries hold, that will never be taken away from them and will always live on in and with the people. @@priscillad8 You can actually do it easily at home. You just need some lightly toasted bean (or get some green coffee beans and toast them yourself in a pan on the stove to light brown color). You can then crush them in a mortar and pestle if you have one, or use a food processor if you don't. You just need to give them a rough (preferably uneven) grind along with a few pods of cardamom. You can also use some powdered cardamom after you finish grinding the coffee instead of pods. Finally, put the coffee and cardamom grounds in a pot (or thermos) and add some boiling water to them and let it steep. The resulting liquid will be light brown in color and will have a more floral and slightly acidic taste compared to "normal" coffee. But I think it is a much more refreshing drink than normal drip coffee. One thing I would advise is to be light with the cardamom. It is a VERY powerful taste so a little goes a long way.

@@MultiKswift Depends on which ones, SaveTheKids is a scam (plagirizing from Save the Children), a certain "charity" that is actually an NFT scam. Another one is Mr Beast's Team Seas which does nothing to address systemic problems of why plastic pollution happens, instead it focuses on after the plastic problem is already in the ocean. AKA going against marine scientists recommendations. Not forgetting that part of the donations are by NFTs (another pollution problem AKA uses too much energy the size of countries). MrBeast's charities are often stunts and never solves the problem. AKA always check about the charity's background.

Gemini Queen! I'm proud that my hometown of Lancaster in the US has a huge refugee population. Refugees from Syria mostly. The local community has done a lot to help and empower refugee families and I get to eat plenty of delicious Syrian food 😋.

First thanks to you and your sister for your love and care for the world and all its people. Sharing what I know- Mensef is the dish of the bedouins. The people of Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan use this a celebration dishes. And mukdus is all shared in the above countries, in Palestine we fill will roasted garlic. I have to say the Syrians are the French of the Arab world since the Ottomans used Damascus has one of their capitals.

I lived in Burkina Faso for two years volunteering with Peace Corps and I found it there, too. Then I came back to the US and so many people have so much materially but are often so unhappy. I had most of these when i visited Jordan just before covid. They are so good, especially mensef! Mensef as a cool story since it exists as a nagging to israel since meat and dairy are mixed. I loved learning how to eat it with hand (yet so different from the indian way), and locals had fun teaching me and laughing at my attempts, all in good fun. LOVE JORDAN SO MUCH. So glad it was my last trip before lock down, i am still reliving it regularly through memory, i encourage everyone to visit there.

So good to see you back in my country, and I'm a bit jealous because it's been a while since I've visited. And thank you for helping and fundraising for the refugee crisis!! Btw, you showed the very old and traditional way of making Mansaf! There are easier and faster ways to make it. You can find pour-and-go Jameed in Middle eastern shops and I never made it with lamb because I don't like the smell, I usually make it with chicken, it's much lighter and it tastes really good.

Holy cardamom Batman! That woman from Syria who made the eggplant dish, she's absolutely stunning. Her eyes are beautiful, and huge! And thank-you to your sister for her good works with the Syrian refugees. It must be such a joy and relief for the parents, that amongst this whole sh•t-storm they and their little ones have had to endure, they have this town, and this wonderful school, to help nurture their children. I can't believe it's been 11 years. Some of those children would have been born in this town. I really hope that they will get to return with their parents, to the home they've never seen, very soon.
