OK re: banana ice cream. You were just shy of blending it to make it magical. Here's what happens when you make it: it starts off looking kinda rough and you're like "where this this going, it's never gonna get there" and that's where you gave up. BUT if you let it go just a bit longer, it'll turn way smoother and nicer. Just have faith that if you keep blending, it'll hit this magic point where it turns.

I’ve learned about the American revolution a million times now but don’t know a single thing about most other countries. I try to teach myself but it’s hard to make up for all those missed years of history of other countries. We are pretty much conditioned to think about the US and the US only so trivial things like not knowing mangos and other exotic fruits could look how they do are bound to happen.

I really admire Michelle's respectful attitude and am glad she enjoyed the week but...fruitarianism is extremely difficult to get right. *And I say this as someone who eats a vegan diet*. The chances of you getting enough calcium, iodine, selenium and the necessary amino acids on a fruitarian diet is very slim unless you are really careful about it. Not to mention, it is far too expensive and wasteful for most people. I sort of wish it wasn't conflated with veganism because it makes people think veganism is more restrictive than it is. Eat a varied, cooked vegan diet with lots of whole grains, vegetables, fruit and legumes, some processed foods here and there, supplement for B12 and you'll be good.

@@ushiozaragoza4069 Not sure where you live, but where I am, fruit and veggies are super expensive, even buying conventional over organic. Then try the fact that anywhere up north, the fruits and veggies are sprayed with wax to preserve them, or they are half rotten and lacking nutrition from the amount of time it takes to ship them around the world. Such a coincidence. I've been doing this same diet for over a week. Eating only fruits, with some corn, accompanied by drinking lots of water. No added salt into my corn, and no coffee or other drinks expect water. I stopped 2 days ago and I saw myself improve because of the diet. My acne has surprisingly gone down and I've been less bloated. It was pretty easy for me since I've been constantly busy this past week and so I didn't have too much of a chance to think about cravings or other food. It's honestly a good diet to try. Glad you tried it, Michelle! Especially right at the same time I did.

If you want to try a diet like this, try a vegan diet. Raw is not better for you, nor does it make any sense to get rid of foods such as legumes, grains or vegetables. Or cooked foods.

Angharad's Opinions Although there is some truth to that, if you eat raw, you unnecessarily restrict foods like lentils and peas (legumes), which can't be eaten raw, even though they are very healthy, and foods like pasta, pizza, tofu, whatever, that aren't bad for you, but taste good, and would help you stick to the diet.

I personally don’t think raw vegan/fruitarianism is sustainable long-term for most people but Robbie is so sweet and smart, I hope him & the others gave you some tips on how you can eat a diversity of wonderful healthy food that doesn’t include animal products! I can never stress this enough: YOU DONT NEED MEAT TO GET PROTEIN!!! Our society is way too focused on protein and we consume much more than our actual daily needs. A normal person needs like 50g of protein per day. Good luck getting a deficiency, because that is very rare. Here are the 10 fruits highest in protein. If you eat enough fruits everyday (like fruitarians), you'll inevitably get enough protein for the day: thewww.healthaliciousness.com/articles/fruits-high-in-protein.php Other than that, I love this video and the optimist attitude you had from the start, compared to all of the Buzzfeed videos in which people are complaining, disgusted or comparing with meat (instead of appreciating the new flavor) from the start
@gmc___
@gmc___ 6 жыл бұрын
Julie Daignault I do agree on you with that you don't need meat. But a quick glance on that article shows you can't get all your protein without exceeding you caloric needs. You definitly need beans in your diet if you're vegan. The fruitarian diet is completely based on pseudo science.

Your article says the highest protein fruit is guava, which provides 8% of your daily need per cup. So Michelle is supposed to eat 12-13 guavas per day?? And when she does her exercise challenges and is building muscle she’d need to eat even more than that. Fruitarian is healthier than the American diet but it by no means allows you to get all the nutrients you need.
@juliedaignault5178

ok guys, I'm not a fruitarian, I'm vegetarian (so I eat vegetables, nuts, beans, etc.) and I'm definitely not an expert in this field. I didn't mean to say that being a fruitarian is an ideal diet, nor am I saying that it isn't because I don't know enough information about it. All I meant to say is that most people don't know you can get a lot of protein from fruits, not just in meat. If your diet is well balanced and if you inform yourself before turning to fruitarianism, I'm sure there is a way you can get all the nutrients you need in a day, even if you work out like Michelle. I'm not here to argue with people and I'm sorry if I made it look like I fully supported this diet. I'm not informed enough to say it's a good or bad diet.

I live in Siberia and it's impossible to live without meat. Protein is an essential for keeping our bodies warm and when it's cold all you want is food. Like we have fruits and vegetables but it's usually from Turkey or Morocco etc. These are full of chemicals and probably have no vitamins left because no organic products would survive a trip from Turkey to Siberia. And exotic fruits like mango, guava, lychee etc cost an arm and leg. And how am I supposed to have a balanced diet without meat? Oh and I'm allergic to fish. No hate to vegetarians, I really wanna be one of you one day, but I just wanted to let you know that not all of us are lucky to have nice fruits and veggies all year round

I understand you are trying to be positive which I appreciate. But showing us one meal a day on this diet isn't helpful for anyone considering doing it. How often do you have to eat a day if you're only eating fruits and vegetables? How many calories did you consume a day? You briefly mentioned the headaches from the sugar but I wish you gave more details. This is a nice video and everything, but ultimately not helpful at all.

Fruitarians eat whenever they are hungry and stop when they are full. Counting calories is not necessary! Vegetables are also not necessary. Humans are fruitarians like primates not vegetarians like cows and horses and elephants. Humans can eat some vegetables, but they take much more energy to break down and digest and should NOT be eaten in combination with fruit as it can cause digestion issues like gas etc. As far as her buzzing head, I would guess she was experiencing mild detox symptoms. Anyone going from a standard American diet (or even a standard vegetarian diet) to eating 100% fruit, will most likely experience mild to extreme detox symptoms. Fruit is a natural astringent that pulls out toxins in the body while nourishing our cells and alkalizing our bodies (lowers inflammation aka acidosis). This is why so many people have been known to cure fatal illnesses on a fruit based diet! Late reply but I hope this helps!

Why would anyone follow this diet. Unless you have access to markets like that it's so expensive, and there is no way you can meet all your nutrient needs like that. Especially minerals like calcium, iron and zinc! It just eliminates lots of healthy and cheap foods like lentils, beans, nuts, avocado, rice and potatoes for no reason.. I would love if you'd try a normal vegan diet, or even a vegan diet for athletes! It would show how delicious and nutritious and "normal "vegan diets can be. Veganism is not limited to just eating fruit.

@ Inami B. I know, but from what I have seen, fruitarians aim for a very high carb percentage in their diets, like 80 10 10 or 90 5 5 (c, f, p), which would severly limit the consumptions of those fatty fruits , like olives, avocados and so on even though these foods are very healthy and very delicious.

The thing that people don't understand about this type of diet is that you can eat much more of these foods than you can on a typical American diet and actually consume fewer calories. You should never feel hungry! Many people believe that they can't eat a raw vegan diet because they see the prices at their local grocery stores. As you see you can find these foods for mcuch less but you have to look for the right places to find them in bulk. Unfortunately for people that live in the Northern part of the US it is much more difficult. Don't be surprised if you decide to make this your new diet rather than just for one week Michelle!
