Had a great time with this game, it was incredibly comfy and smooth to play. Saffron is back from the HOI4 video (and the EU4 one too!) and was by far the most useful of all of my friends when it came to actually helping me build the factory. Despite the conveyor belt meltdown. Hey, at least she didn't spend her time cleaning ore and then starting a cult?

This really is a microcosm of what these types of games do to people. The innate urge to industrialize everything possible, the weird worship over things that pop up out of nowhere, the rampant overcollection of resources, nonsensical automation, seeing glory in the omnissiah's holy automata... so, I have a fun story for you. Carl referred to the base suffering from 'sudden explosive disassembly', this actually makes him out to be a corporate robot because he's not just saying 'it blew up'. in Corporate speak, you don't say the blunt thing, you put it in corporate speak. my brother worked for a car company years ago as an engineer, right now I'm not sure if it's Aston Martin or Jaguar/Land Rover. one of the two. One of the kits he was working on burst into flames and got put out, so he was doing a report and got told he can't say 'burst into flames', it's a 'spontaneous thermal event' and also got told about other things like 'sudden explosive disassembly'. so he has it happen again. and he sends a message his boss just asking 'what do I do about the erm....' and then a picture of a no smoking sign. apparently his bosses were doubled over laughing
