Today I try to fix a Germany disaster save game but it looks like it could have been sabotaged! The console commands appear to have been used to quite an extent. Can I still save this Hearts of Iron 4 game?

I know why the horses were such chonkers. Feedback once said make your garrisons as Big as you can, because it would be as cost efficient as it can get.

Yupp. Either max cav + MP or 1 cav and MP if you have tons of support equipment. Most manpower and equipment efficient.

Yeah garrisons actually say which unit is the most efficient in suppression. 50 cw horses with military police makes the highest suppression per troop numbers without any motorized.

yes, full cavalry garrisons with military police are meta, as they have the second highest suppression only after armoured cars.

No, no, no, don't change the 50 width military police division! It's 50 width for a very good reason. Military police (the support company) provides a multiplicative bonus to the suppression of a division, which means that as you add cavalry battalions to a division, you get the same amount of suppression boost for less overall support equipment; the bigger the division, the less of that division you will need as a garrison template for occupied territories. Also, the number of resistance-quelling garrison divisions you need for occupied territories can be fractional and all of the the equipment is sent and used automatically as well, meaning combat width doesn't matter at all.

@@N8UrM8 You're not wasting any manpower at all by making 50 width garrison divisions, because how much manpower is needed is calculated by the division's composition, not its size. A 50 width cavalry division (with no MP) and a 2 width cavalry division (with no MP) will, in practice, require the exact same amount of equipment and manpower. On the other hand, a 50 width cavalry division (with MP) will provide the same amount of suppression for less support equipment, infantry equipment, and manpower than a 2 width cavalry division (with MP).

The 50 combat width cavalry with MP is something I do. Its the most efficient suspression force in terms of resources. It is *not* for combat. Might actually be the only good thing the player has done :p

Plus getting proper field marshall traits like logistic wizard one of the best in the game instead of guerilla just because it is there. I mean cmon a normal ok Hoi player could save this if he knows the meta just a little. (40wth tanks go brrr)

The police division makes sense, since it will reduce the amount of support equipment needed by garrisons down to a minimum. For that MP boost.

The console and up isnt very reliable since it also counts the cheats from your other save games. How do i know? I was playing latvia without cheats and watching this vid and i tried to use the console up and it showed the commands i used in other save games.
