I'm surprised schools don't teach kids about eating disorders more. we had several lessons on eating disorders, the symptoms of someone who's going through it and stuff. I did a lot of projects on it, even when I was in the 4th grade. Anyway I hope schools start teaching this stuff more

In my experience, school didn't teach me anything about eating disorders. The extent of what I was taught was literally just the same 5 videos on nutrition we watched every year. Thankfully my mom recognized this and taught me a lot of what I know, but I could've fallen into so many unhealthy habits without that. Schools really should be teaching more about eating disorders and how unhealthy dieting is

I've been struggling with balancing it out for a while now, and with an already bad mental health, it's extra hard to set yourself up for success. This is exactly why I started going to the gym. I've always been thin but running for 5 mins murdered me, what started as a small jog on the treadmill led me to trying the other equipment since I'll already be there. I'm not ripped or anything but I am feeling a lot better.

About the training videos: My mom has yoga/exercise videos that don’t have overly happy people. Those people are sweating, in gym uniforms and not anything weird, and they’re not smiling. They actually look pretty serious. They don’t have hip-hop music in the background. The background music is actually pretty nice, and the gym instructor explains things about the body about losing weight and stuff while we exercise so we’re more educated. That’s nice

What I love is that when the moment she talks about her eating disorder, she still has that tone of seriousness, but also doesn't. She still tries to make some funny comments, even though it can be a very serious subject to a lot of people. I too have an extremely unhealthy relationship with food, except for instead of not eating I eat when ever I have any extreme emotional swing of any kind. Thankfully I found things like the Keto Diet as well as Intermittent fasting and they have helped me get a better control of my relationship with food. I still have bad days, (Just had one where I ate an entire family size bag of No added Salt Utz X_X, "No Salt Now with 70% More Guilt!") but I just have to get back on that saddle the next day, getting healthy is a journey much like getting fat was. I was 380~ this time last year (My Scale maxed at 370 and It said ERR when I stepped on it ) Now I am 288 and feel so much better, 100 Lbs down ideally another 80-100 or so to go.

one thing to add to this is to not be afraid to start joining a gym (if thats what you want to do.) it seems pretty scary at first, but everyone basically does their own thing and wont focus on you, since their all focused on themselves. i was really nervous before joining planet fitness, but now that ive gone for a while i find it super fun! its never a bad idea to step out of your comfort zone, you never know what your next favorite thing might be :)

Love this video I remember watching this when it came out on a dif device and it has changed me in so many good ways. I made a New Year’s resolution maybe 2 years ago and have been keeping it up since. The resolution was to drink less soda, I didn’t want to do something to challenging so this has been my New Year’s resolution.
