A tip for future episodes, don't arrange a 12 year old betrothed when you are 34, she can't star popping babies until her 16 birthday (because going really realistic and adding pedophilia to the Medieval Era would drown Paradox in lawsuits) marry someone closer to 16 and look up her stats, always look for a genius as that is genetic, a betrothed with a strong claim is better spent marring a vassal or courtier of yours if the claim is of a lower tier title than your main one, if the same level or above, try to marry that person on your dynasty, also, if you end up playing as a woman, marry matrilineally, otherwise your heir will not be of your dynasty and it is game over. Loving your CKII challenges and it is nice to see a fresh channel on this game; also, you should buy the DLCs, even the graphic ones, when black friday comes to steam, they are worth the investment, perhaps then you could make a challenge of surviving the Sunset invasion or one of the nomadic hordes.

Pictland is REALLY powerful in the 769 start, too. I always try to get them on my side when I play as an Anglo-Saxon. Usually you can ally with one or two of the Welsh kings too.

Marco Conrad I think in ck2 the AI isn't a warmonger like in HoI4, that's why it's less fun for videos like these. For fun videos he needs to play in regions where different religions border each other (like Middle East), look for challenges, custom rulers etc. Playing as christian in Western Europe means your neighbours just wait for you to conquer them

Kent is really easy, I formed the kingdom of england with the first character and his daughter united the remaining part of England (vassalized Wessex) and added north-ireland and Wales to it. What I did (Charlemagne start date): 1) get a claim on the duchy of Essex (if that doesn't work, just try to get a claim for both counties in it) 2) If you have just a little bit of cash, 180 gold would do it. You hire 1500 men (dont raise your personal levy yet tho) so your power rating goes up, then you should be able to vassalize Sussex and Surrey, if not, send them a gift so they get a positive opinion of you. the combination of a positive opinion; your power rating versus theirs and the fact you're their de jure overlord alongside the fact you've got the same religion and culture should make them accept... Don't disband your mercenaries yet. 3) Now you can invade the duchy of Essex the 1500 mercs + your personal levy + the levies of your new vassals (should be about 400-600 men) should easily conquer Essex. 4) Congratulations, within half a year you've expanded your borders, 4 times. get a claim of the duchy of East Anglia, or the two provinces in it and take their lands. 5) At this point you're one of the major powers in what would be England. Don't forget to build upgrades to your counties so you can get extra men and more money. If you did that you should be good to invade Mercia, if you can get the claim (I used the pope for this one since he had a positive opinion of me, and a negative opinion at the time of the mercian petty king) 6) Now you've got enough land to form the Kingdom of England. If the northumbrian king has a positive opinion of you, you should be able - with luck to vassalize them peacefully. If not, you're kind of forced to go to war. 7) With Northumbria added to your almighty english kingdom, you can now try to diplomatically vassalize Wessex. Or just press your de jure claims on him. If you can't vassalize him peacefully and dont want to wait years to get rid of the useless truces you can also invite a claimant to your court and since it is a de jure part of your Kingdom, he will be a vassal of yours when you press his claim, this will immediatly boost his opinion of you by about 80 (+60 because you granted him a duchy, +20 because you pressed his claim) 8) You've now got full control of de jure england. You can now choose whether to invade Pictland, try to get claims on ireland (Ulster was 4 provinces at the time so that was easy land), or Wales.

Might be a long wait.)Once the event has fired, have Glitterhoof educate your children to pass on the Horse culture.Give people with Horse culture Count-level titles (or higher, if you like).Remove non-horses from their court, so new characters will be spawned for their council. I see you've got The Old Gods, Charlemange and Rajas of India expansions. I recomend you get Sword of Islam so you can play a muslim faction so that's pretty much most of the map sorted. You can play as the Mongols as a tribal pagan so you don't need Horse Lords so much.
