​@defactok4661 If there is nothing to cut, like in this case, it's considered ok to use the right hand. Even then, some people will use the left, especially if a knife is supplied. The knife is then often used to help put the food on the fork and then you NEVER switch hands. If you have let's say a steak with mashed potatoes and a salad, you of course will cut the steak with the fork in your left and the knife in your right hand. You will start such a meal with the fork in the left hand regardless whether you start with the salad or the mashed potatoes or the steak. And you will never switch. Anything else will be considered no-culture redneck table manners by most continental Europeans. That said, yes, as for a simple pure pasta dish like this here: Most continental Europeans will probably use the right hand (if right handed). I just wanted to give the perspective here that it's more of an exception. You do see another big cultural difference, though. Hands are absolutely ALWAYS on the table in continental Europe. But not the elbow. This is even more important than not constantly switching fork and knife. Hand below the table will get you eyes rolling at any restaurant better than McD. While I am totally open to different cultures, I do recommend keeping the hands on the table to my American friends if they don't want to stick out.
