You should go on some forums and link to your video to get more feedback from other owners otherwise they’re unlikely to see it

Is there a big price difference between the ts80 style tips vs the ts100? I assume the ts80 is more expensive

Sure seems like it’s heating up way beyond its intended temp due to a sensor issue

EDIT: yes, new tip and my miniware iron is back in buissness My 4 months old tip suddenly died this sunday, or at least I hope its tip. I have TS80P not TS80. It just says no tip and i check resistance and its in kOhms so good bet that tip went bad. It went bad during soldering session, suddenly stopped working, looks undamaged. But soldering with that thing is really nice. Annoyingly tips arent readly available in my country so Im still waiting for the tip to come to test it and I miss my ability to solder

I'm sorry been there myself. Really like this iron but the tips are just so fragile and unreliable. Get yourself an older Weller 25 watt iron. The green handled ones not the orange ones. Least then you'll have a backup that'll last forever.

@@Electronicle yeah, will do. I actually wanted to buy it earlier but I wont buy shiny new for sake of shiny new, but soon my 15yo iron died, leaving me without backup (But also opening up option to buy ts80p).

Hi I think you would be better off with a TS-100 had mine for a phew years not worn a tip out yet as an engineer it is used daily for smaller jobs.

Thanks. I'll have to look into that. My issues with the ts100 are the length of the tip and power connector / delivery method. I like the ts80 for its compactness and feel plus it's portability. Maybe a ts100 would be good just for bench work...but then I could just use a regular iron.

I also have the TS-100 and I am quite happy with it but I would recommend going for the Pinecil. I did that recommendation to one of my friends recently and side to side the product is better enough to deserve the gold. They share the screen and the tips, but there are some differences: - slightly better price, even bought directly to the manufacturer, which for me is a big plus. - dual barrel/usb-c power connectors. Man, that is a biggie. Carrying a suitable powerbank you have the full 19v at your disposal everywhere. Sure the TS-100 can go up to 24, but no standard cheap powerbank provides that. They sell at the same store a nice long silicone USB-C cable btw which is a must. - It has a much better placement of the buttons. I hate how close they are in the TS100 to the tip. I´ve messed a million times the temperature before 3dprinting a grip/safeguard. Now I grab it mostly by to the new guard so it barely ever happens. - It has a bigger and nicer grip area. It feels way nicer than the TS-100, which is very thin. Cosmetically the TS100 is superb, but the ergonomics on hand for me are way worst. With the 3d printed supplement, they are on pair, although now the TS-100 looks uglier.

Have the same low voltage issues with my TS-80 as well. I’ll try firmware update to see if it helps. I loved the TS-80 till I started getting the voltage issues towards the end. I’ve had mine for over a year now.
