This video has GENUINLEY changed my life I could cry. The amount of pain and struggle of never being able to feel comfortable and I’ve watched so many videos and looked so many things up to help find a good way to sit and nothing has helped until now. I’m so incredibly grateful for this

Liz - comments like this make US feel like we could cry! This is exactly why we started this channel, trying to put out some of the information that comes up in our Physio sessions, so people all over the world can access it when they need it. Please let us know what other burning questions you have and we'll see if we can add it to the filming list for future. Thank you!

So I’m not the only one who has trouble sitting on a couch?!? I’m so glad I found you!!! This has been a problem for years! Taking walks is also painful...Do I swing my arms more, or not? Do I use walking sticks, or not?! I’d love some input about that! Thanks from Norway!
@TSCConnect Жыл бұрын
Hi Deborah - sitting positions are some of the most common topics that we discuss with our clients, so you're definitely not alone. For walking - discomfort really depends on a lot of factors, we suggest you see a scoliosis-trained Physiotherapist in your area who can assess your gait and make recommendations.

Thank you for the video! I am wondering what about sitting long hours on the aeroplane, how to support the back? Is it the same for car ?
@TSCConnect2 жыл бұрын
Good question! We’ll try to make a video about that soon. In general, try maintain a gentle scoop in your lower back, you can use a rolled up sweater or small pillow

I’m confused which side you mean with the way she is laying and the drawing. My CONVEX side is on the left and my concave is on the right. Could you help me understand which side you mean? Also what type shoes do you think are good for scoliosis pain.
@TSCConnect8 ай бұрын
If your curve is convex to the left, then the recommendations are to limit the amount of time sitting in positions that further bend your spine into your curve

Hi! I've been most comfortable while reading on a couch, laying on my back on the couch with my head and upper back supported by 2 pillows aligned as a plank towards the arm rest and my left (or right leg) lifted up over the side of the couch using my heal to latch onto the back. Ahhh!

Hi I have kyphosis and I wanted to know what kind of chair I can use to work sitting down. I feel that some chairs increase my lumbar lordosis.
@TSCConnect10 ай бұрын
Great question, you may need an assessment from a physiotherapist to look closely at your lordosis and how it responds to different seating sets ups.

What about the S shape scoliosis?
@TSCConnectАй бұрын
what specific question do you have about it?
@Betcsbirds Жыл бұрын
I have a sitting disability and constant pain in the right lumbar/SI joint area. I also have a progressive "s" curve scoliosis (both curves in the high 40s) I regularly have to lie down on my bed when watching tv or working on my laptop or my low back hurts terribly. the only way to comfortably sit is in a recliner.. I do not put up the footrest but just push back slightly so the incline is not straight up and down. I recently got rice bags and stick one on the largest part of each curve so I don't sink too much into the curve. The recliner is probably too soft and I recognize it isn't the best option .. I just have no way to sit comfortably for any significant length of time otherwise. Can you give some recommendations to improve my position in a recliner if you have some? thank you!
@TSCConnect Жыл бұрын
Hmm this is challenging, and we recommend that you speak with a healthcare provider who can assess your SI joint and your changing curves. Do you have an opportunity to take many breaks when you work, participate in other activities to decrease prolonged sitting, or perhaps get an adjustable high-low desk? Our bodies like variety of positions, so if that’s at all possible, that may help. However again because you’re experiencing pain and changing curves, please ask your trusted healthcare provider.

hii! can you please do some exercises to lessen the rib hump? thank youu!!
@TSCConnect2 жыл бұрын
Hi! That's a great question, however working on really specific parts of your scoliosis curve, like the rib hump, is hard to teach via youtube because the exercises and positions are very different depending on each person and their curve type. Where are you located? Is there a scoliosis therapist in your area that you could ask?

@@TSCConnect sleeping positions, and possibly work out modifications. This will be my 3rd, and the scoliosis got pretty bad in the lumbar area and hips after my last. Postpartum was hard. I know there's limited research but I'm hoping to use the 'relaxin' in my body this time to benefit me.

@@TSCConnect I’m interested in a scoliosis and pregnancy video as well! I believe my scoliosis may have developed during my first pregnancy as my back pain has gotten worse postpartum. I’m starting to consider getting pregnant again but I’m focusing on losing weight first and improving my spinal strength. But I also have anxiety regarding if my scoliosis will get worse as I gain weight during pregnancy. I was recently diagnosed with levoscoliosis and your videos have helped me feel relief so much. Thank you!

There is no one best position, it depends on which way you are trying to sit, and what type of curve you have. That's why we give detailed explanation
