The problem was that it was just OK. Don't get me wrong, I love this game despite it's flaws but the issue was that the story is too similar to the first game and feels like a retread of the first but done worse, for example the original had a final boss which was meant to be like a personal struggle for Torque's sanity but was made real by Carnate Island into this gigantic monster that you couldn't kill, but had to tame with Killjoy's rebirth machine. It was chaotic and made for a satisfactory conclusion to an intense story. In this game, it's revealed that Blackmore is just Torque again just like how it was with the Creature, only this time you have to repeatedly farm insanity from enemies to damage Blackmore in Creature form, over and over and over... Until you beat him. And it's agonising to do on Impossible, which is a really bad sign for the quality of the game when that happens. Not only that but, the developers really messed up by making the triggermen too hard to take down; with no way to definitively stun them even on easier difficulties and the Creature form combined. But saying that, I still love the things that were improved like the Creature/Karma upgrade system and the improved roll mechanics. Plus I still find the rest of the gameplay worthwhile despite the bad story beats and Triggermen fights.

Torque in Good Route: A Good family man caught up with a bad man. Torque in Neutral Route: A struggling father with Serious Anger issues. Torque in Evil Route: A mentally unstable man being manipulated.

They dropped the ball on this game man, the only distinctive characters were Blackmore, the Creeper, The Horde, and spider with the guns. Everything else was pretty lackluster. That military shit killed game imo... along with PLETHORA of other things they changed from the original. Even Carmen was annoying as fuck this time around & not very convincing of a character with that poor writing and voice actress. We’re not suppose to be able to tell that you’re “acting” and reading off of a fucking piece of paper. The movie should be based off realism and not make believe...

I really liked the first game, but this one feels like a let down. Only two weapons at the time (I know some can be dual wielded but still), this paramilitary merc group, voice acting is worse, story is worse too, the new monsters are uninteresting and the returning ones have lamer backstory, and what really bugged me is Carmen's complete 180 turn from the previous game. Like what happened to the, "let's never be apart again", forgivness and all that? Dosen't make sense. Also didn't like how now there's an actualy morality meter instead of just the picture and you being dirtier the more evil you are.

Damn. Thing is I got so bored after a few hours with this I stopped playing, I picked it up again but didn't went further when you have to face the women hater and slave hunter bosses (the previous fights already drained me out of ammo, then to deal with them to, I said it was enough)

I agree about only caring two weapons and the paramilitary merc group is kinda stupid but overall it's a great sequel. The voice acting is great especially from Michael Clarke Duncan and people who voice Killjoy, The Creeper and Copperfield. The story is not as good as the first game, but still interesting and I think the monsters are cool.

Duncan was awesome I admit, I loved that guy, what a shame. And yeah, Killjoy and the other were cool too. The new monsters don't look bad in design, like the one with the skorpions is insane, but their origin is flat compared to the original monsters. Since we both played it I don't mind spoilering, but I also thought it's stupid to give Torque another mental illness aside from losing it when his adreline goes sky high. Makes little sense too how could he pull it off when he was 2 people at the same time.

@@Lajos_Kelemen The game does have some plot holes and some things don't make sense like those paramilitary mercs and their association with Blackmore/Torque. But aside from that I think everything adds up well to all the chaos that's going on. Also, one complaint I have is that the Insanity mode drains too quickly and the transformation with the good morality looks really lame. If you like The Suffering series I suggest playing Shadowman. It's an old gem from 1999.
