In this video, we'll review the Blitz STANDARD model, made in Russia by TSPROF. The machine work of this system is beautiful on this unit, but there are a few issues that could be addressed, in my opinion.

I'm sorry about your accidental cut BUT I've learned a valuable lesson from that! I will be MORE CAREFUL (and go more slowly!) when I'm sharpening knives so that I don't become a "band-aid medal" carrying person myself! Nicely done video.

Thanks for posting this video Kyle! It looks like a better system then alot of them I've seen on KZbin. I still love to watch how you use your own stones better i think . Thanks again for another awesome video! Take care and stay safe my friend!

As the son of a tool and die maker, I was immediately struck by the quality machining of their platforms as I reviewed guided angle platforms. After debating the Blitz 360, a couple Wicked Edge systems and KME...I ended up getting the TSProf K03 system. Still learning, but I'm getting better and I've been happy with it so far. I don't have the Blitz, but I thought it came with 2 collars. If not, I know you can get them from Gritomatic with little springs on them (ditch the o-rings). I was about to say I need to get some of those EP diamond matrix stones someday, but watching you filet your finger makes me second guess myself. I always worry I am going to lean forward to get my strop or a paper towel and gut myself like a fish. Haven't yet. 🤪 Stay well up there.

The machining is really nice. I don't think I'll keep this system, but I would definitely want a 2nd collar for the back side if I was. Perhaps there was supposed to be one included, but I looked through everything and didn't find one. I do find it a little unnerving having the edge clamped towards you like that. haha It seems very aggressive! Glad you're enjoying the K03

If both sides of the knife were not sharpening at the exact same angle, is there an adjustment on this unit to get it back into alignment?

BTW you can try their Venev diamond stones with OSB, those are really awesome (I also don't like those diamond plated stones and use those only at low grit to form the edge, where they do it fast)

I need a sharpening system like this that can hold giant sharpening stones and giant fixed blades.

I enjoy watching these sharpening systems. I bought a cheap one years ago and it was terrible. I ended up buying a work sharp ken onion edition. Overkill for the knives I have but I got tired of buying cheap.

I like to use diamond stones for reprofiling since they cut so aggressively. I also like to use diamond stones on my knives in super steels like 20cv, zdp189 and M4. However, for everything else I prefer using my Arkansas stones or whet stones, depending on circumstances...

They let out an attachment for creating a convex edge you could tinker with.

Hmmm. I'd love to try it out, looks like fun to run type of system. It seems odd to me that what appears to be such a well engineered piece of kit has so many obvious hiccups in it. It almost seems unfinished.

i have a question: can you get the settings flat enough for a scandi grind for a northern style knife ? in this setting are the clamps disturbing ? and by the way: to use the user documentation for cutting test means no respect for the work of the maker.
@kyle_noseworthy
@kyle_noseworthy 3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I guess so? It says up to 30 or 35 degrees, and a scandi shouldn't be any more than that range. Good question though! I'm curious! As for your last comment, I'm not sure what you're saying?

@@kyle_noseworthy i have a lansky here and i tested an guided system like yours. these did not allow to sharp an angle from an finnisch knife (roselli). the clamp was not flat enough and the screws disturb

Good video. Lots of colorful comments. Maybe even a bit of tape on the end of the rod? Not as good as a locking device...

Yeah ....If you need to just sharpen basic blades buy the WorkSharp Adjust. It's not perfect BUT it works and I was able to reprofile my Benchmade Bushcrafter in S30V. You can also buy lapping adhesive and cut pieces of sand paper . Just stick them to the ceramic stone and presto . BUT this system in this video looks awesome because you can do large blades ...That said give it time and Worksharp will have a deluxe edition cause thats what they do Bait you by dumbing down their original device they come out with an all new improved version ... Its annoying but that's how it works. Personally those diamond stones suck they lose their grit really fast so for me I use sandpaper whenever I can .

@@kyle_noseworthy Yes ...I hate them. They do sharpen fast BUT don't slip or get that dust on the relief edge or it's scratched like crap. I'm no trophy collector BUT those diamond rods destroy knives esp stainless steel polished blades. I haven't seen a stone yet that doesn't lose the grit after one or two good sharpenings. I'd rather use sand paper it takes a little longer but it's way more forgiving.

290 is very cheap, it would be 1000 if made in the usa
