I just installed these recently with the updated V2 brackets and had zero issue. My only complaint is I wish they would of told us the torque spec for each bolt, yes I understand the video does tell you, but I notice even the so call torque spec on the instruction was off compare to TST torque spec. I just followed the torque spec from the video and everything went smooth. Good job TST.

Excellent intstructions and a great time-saver! Just put the Womet-Tech sliders on my 2024 XSR900. These things are motorcycle jewelry. The quality of machining and anodizing are well worth the price. Grade 12.9 bolts. I'm a happy camper!

So I got the newest round of these to be in stock as of February 2024 and installation went smoothly. I saw the comments about wrong bolt sizes and brackets not aligning properly but had none of the issues. The left from engine mount bolt did seem a little light on thread engagement but for piece of mind I threw a little loctite on all the bolts and after a few hundred miles have no issues. Bike is a 2023 XSR900.

Thank you for the video. Installation went smoothly. Only problem i had, was that the holes in the bracket for the right side are not centered but slits. Makes it hard to fit, when only one side can be loose at any given moment. Also the torque specs are not included in the instructions.

Very good looking sliders with MAJOR ENGINEERING FLAWS. Probably better to stay away. I installed them and these were the issues, some mentioned by others already. Right side bracket did not fit I had to machine it to match. The right bracket was fixed in later packages but too late. All the 4 long bolts and 2 more RUST big time even without riding in the rain. What I got in the package is black oxide. In the video they show something shiny like stainless or zinc plated. I asked for support for rusted screws and I have been provided with the same screws one more time. Not very useful guys. Left side screw the M10 x 100mm is way too short. The thread engagement is about 10mm when it should be 16-20mm. It stripped the threads out from the engine block when I tried to torque it to 60Nm with a calibrated wrench. The ultimate disaster to strip threads of a brand new bike engine block I can't forgive. Shame on all involved for not checking and testing properly such a product! The video production is very good and clear instructions but to what result? To lead you to damage your bike? If you decide to go for it use a M10-1.25 pitch (fine) x 110mm. A 120mm would work too but you need to tap all the way through before installing it. To warn others is the only reason I'm writing this.

The comment about the bike not being on the kickstand would have been nice to have in the instructions, I got a set of these frame sliders and couldn’t for the life of me get it to fit. Now I’ve stripped some of the threads and I need to take it to a mechanic to fix. Even when I was emailing back and forward about this thinking that maybe the part was not right, there was no mention of putting the bike on a stand, seems like a very crucial step!
@TSTindustries
@TSTindustries 2 жыл бұрын
We do not make the instructions, those are directly from the manufacturer. Having the bike on a stand is somewhat important but it's more important to make sure only one motor mount is being removed/replaced at a time. Engine sag is the biggest enemy during a frame slider installation. If you were emailing our Support Team with this issue, they may have been focusing on making sure you received the correct parts based on how the original email was constructed. I can look into this if needed.

@@TSTindustries thanks but no real point. There isn’t anything you guys will be able to do to remedy it short of offering some kind of compensation which I’m not going to ask for. I was very careful making sure I only took out one bolt at a time so there was always a point of connection. My suggestion would be to maybe simply add your own document with the shipment of this product mentioning the bike should be on a paddock stand and point out the potential risk of the engine sagging. Had I known about this, I probably wouldn’t have had any issues. Eventually I’ll get it to a mechanic to re-thread the mounting points and install the gear. I love your guys products and your team are very quick to respond to potential issues but this one has left a bit of a sour taste if I’m being 100% honest.

One of the few things I learned from being a diesel mechanic for that last decade is having common sense when you work on stuff and perhaps it is the most important thing, and some people just don't have common sense and that's what makes work difficult, please take your bike to a mechanic next time I know working on your bike can be fun but it's very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing Best of luck
@mt-09nz98
@mt-09nz98 2 жыл бұрын
@@RidingNomad kinda missing the point mate. If it is such a concern that the engine may shift unless it is on a maintenance stand, I’d expect it to be in the instructions. You say common sense but if this is such a concern, common sense would say that this warning should be noted in the instructions. I’ve got nothing against these guys, I do love their products, I think they’re fantastic! It’s just a bummer that’s all. The bike has had a recall for the ecu anyway so they’re going to look the threads at the same time and see if they actually do need to be re-threaded or not.

Hi, Im a little bit confused, because on womet tech website manufacturer clearly specify that this slider will not fit 2021+ SP version.
@TSTindustries
@TSTindustries Жыл бұрын
We work really closely with Womet Tech. We actually designed some of the parts they offer, and in turn they manufacture some of our branded parts. I am personal friends with the owner. Typically we share information on our parts fitment in real time. I believe what happened here is that Womet received information that the right side parts were too tight to tighten on a customer bike. This probably happened to be an SP. What was really the issue was that Yamaha runs a loose tolerance in the mounting areas, and all the models of the bike were affected, but not all the bikes. On some, regardless of standard or SP, the parts would fit right in, and on some they would have interference. So us and Womet pulled down the parts from availability, and we found ourselves some more of these bikes to survey the tolerance. Fast forward a bit, we cooperated to design in the appropriate set of features that would be able to handle the tolerance on the mountign points and Womet prototyped them. They are currently in transit to me to test locally on our bikes here. I think that they may have left old information on their website leading you to believe that the parts fit the standard but not SP model. These are assumptions based on my conversations with Womet, and my intimate knowledge of the actual fit issue. Hope this helps you somhow. We should have the parts back in availability soon after getting the prototypes re-validated.

@@TSTindustries Hi, thank you for your reply. If I may, I have one more thing to ask. About short levers. Again same story, on their website they claim that those levers will not fit SP model, even on one of your's other videos you replied to s-one that shorty levers will not fit SP, and yet on your crash protection video featuring Blockhead's bike (SP) those very levers are installed. I'm asking because I'm really interested in those parts and I want to be sure that everything will fit, not compromising my safety. Thank you.
@TSTindustries

@@ardilladent that is actually accurate. They do not work on the SP model. The perch and mc are actually the same between the bikes , but one of the bar switch enclosures is different on the SP makes the levers not work right. So we are waiting for Womet to design a specific one for the SP

@TSTindustries
@TSTindustries Жыл бұрын
The problem stems from Yamaha's wildly wide tolerance envelope on the motor to frame mounting. About 75% of the 2021 and 2022 MT09 bikes do not have the fit issue but the rest does in varying degrees of severity. If you notice, we pulled these sets off our website as soon as people reported problems. We immediately notified Womet-Tech who is the manufacturer of these products, and worked with them to survey more of these bikes to design a bracket set of larger tolerance envelope . I have a set of the prototype 2.0 brackets on my desk but haven't been able to test them on the local bikes that I know for sure have the fit problem. We are dealing with floods, downed trees and no power in a lot of neighborhoods here. When business resumes to 100% I will get those test fits going and we should have a solution to commit to soon after. The correct protocol for getting help with parts purchased from us is to reach out as soon as you notice any issue. We have specialists standing by to help with troubleshooting. If you exhaust their experience and knowledge they get engineering involved, so you have access to very sophisticated think tank that is eager to help you . Once you start modifying the parts and damaging threads there is very little we can do for you . Please, do not use those components you received and tried to install. When we get replacement brackets from Womet-Tech we can send you the replacement set. KZbin conversations are not actionable on our end, so please contact our customer service personnel through our website. This way we can get you proper help.
