What do you guys think? TTArtisan is bringing some fun lenses to the party! What lens should I do next?
@25myma4 жыл бұрын
I know it's a bit out of your review style, but can you do a light/exposure shootout among similar focals some day? I am noticing that especially wide open when they have heavier vignetting, they tend to overexpose the center and push higher ISO compared to my native lenses. So Im wondering, are we getting all the f-stops with these lenses, how is vignetting affecting other settings, is their glass as transparent as other lenses... 🤔
@kyletaggart4 жыл бұрын
Lenses can differ in a number of areas. Also your camera should be set to “multi spot” meter. That’s the most commonly used auto metering mode. I like to point out when lenses have noticeable vingetting. I do plan to do a “how focal length” affects the subject soon.

This must be the best manual lens I've purchased. The fixed focal length is just right for close-range shots. The aperture is easy to adjust and good for indoor lighting. Do remember to turn on the release shutter w/o lens function as it has no electronic contact to the camera. It has a nice weight to it. The metal body is excellent. The rings are smooth as silk. As for the image quality, it's sharper than what I've expected. Totally worth the money.

Great review. Do you think this lens its good for making videos? or the quality or the manual focus makes it not good for it.
@kyletaggart3 жыл бұрын
Manual focus requires a lot of practice, but it can definitely be good for videos . A key is not not shoot at the lowest aperture all the time. In terms of a KZbin video - like filming yourself - it wouldn’t be the best. I’d suggest an auto focus lens for self filming, but manual focus is doable.

@kyletaggart4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no review. I have a video I'm going to include it in, but I just had other things going on when I had my hands on it. In short though, I'm not buying one. I REALLY wanted to love it, and it's a great camera don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't check the boxes off that I want. No touch screen menu's (sony, please give it to us!), the viewfinder is...small, and I don't like the grip. Those few things are big for me, and just made me realize I didn't need it, especially when the price jump is significant.
@JBlazs074 жыл бұрын
@@kyletaggart Is the ewf smaller than, for example, the a6X00 series? In the box, u dont get the rubber ewf extender or why is it small? The touch screen is understandable in its own way.

It feels smaller. I didn’t fret over it too much when I had it, but it definitely felt smaller screen wise. I’d have to confirm that though.

As a noob. If this has a manual F stop. What do you set the camera to in M mode? Do you change the F and Apurature on the camera?

In manual mode you have to adjust the 3 main settings depending on light available. Aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. You can use auto modes and aperture priority with a manual lens. The manual part will be the focusing.

1.2 f stop? I didnt think it could get that low! Or is it higher? I can never remember!! 😆😆🙈 you may have already done this, but do you think you can do whats in your camera bag? Or if you have, you think you can do an updated version? Also, how much of a learning curve is using a manual lens? Also, also do you have any recommendations on camera bags? Also, also, also so far I'm impressed with tt artistan so far!
@kyletaggart4 жыл бұрын
F stop can go quite low! Even .95! I can certainly do an updated version. I did one over a year or two ago now. It’s a little bit of a learning curve. You can use focus peaking, which shows a color in what’s in focus on the screen (kinda like cheating! 🤪) I don’t have a ton of recommendations. I myself have wanted either lowepro or peak design bags. Never pulled the trigger as of yet. And me too!
@captsamsung4 жыл бұрын
@@kyletaggart can you remind me what focus peaking is? Do you currently own a camera lens that goes down to .92? That would be an interesting review to see!!
@kyletaggart4 жыл бұрын
It’s where when you turn the focus ring, a color highlights what’s actually in focus on the screen. Say you choose yellow (out of yellow, white, or red). As you focus manually on someone’s eyes (turning focus ring) you’ll see the color yellow highlighting what’s in focus. Also yep, one of the next two videos will be on a lens with f0.95!
@captsamsung4 жыл бұрын
@@kyletaggart Okay I gotcha!! For the focus ring, do you need to be in a certain setting? Like in sony a series, so you need to be in say shutter priority?
