TTFL City Reviews; Duluth, Minnesota

I seem to have a lot of new viewers on TTFL, so first, let me thank you for your time and attention! The Trip for Life needs active viewers, who favorite, share, tweet and contribute, to keep this experiment in citizen journalism moving.
One of my objectives with this project is to visit a lot of cities with good air quality and review them, as a way of keeping the qualities of each of these cities straight when I decide to settle down somewhere. This video covers the lovely, albeit somewhat unheralded, city of Duluth MN, a city that I have found to be both charming and accommodating both times that I have visited it. So, please join me as I explore this interesting city on the lake, on The Trip for Life.

After I graduated from college in Los Angeles I was stationed in Duluth during the 1970's when the Air Force had an Air Force base there and fell in love with Duluth then. Later on after I left active duty I lived about an hour south in Wisconsin for my job but came back to Duluth once a month for my service in the Minnesota Air National Guard and considered that weekend to be a mini-vacation for me. I absolutely loved being in Duluth. It is a wonderful, wonderful city.

Fire danger? Really? The woods surrounding Duluth are way different from the logged over mess we had in 1918. Forest fires near the city are a non issue. Fall and winter storms can have winds over 70 mph and the blizzards can be ferocious. Last summer there was an unexpected line of thunderstorms that knocked out power for much of the city for about a week.

The majority of bars in Duluth are on the West side so people associate it with a lot of crime even though the numbers don't support that. West Duluth is more "working class" and it's not as neat around the edges. But it's not dangerous and it's nowhere near as bad as parts of NYC.

There are some beautiful images of the city here, and some interesting information. Great effort! But you had 7:32, there was so much more of Duluth.you could have put in but didn't. Kinda seemed like a promo for one restaurant, and reading stats over stock footage.

funny how you show mostly the downtown area and EAST Duluth, not even mentioning the other side... nice video though, could be helpful for nutshelling the city for friends oh, and bonus points for Carl Sagan remix

Forest fires are a danger to Duluth? This Ontarian finds that laughable. There are no dangers to living in Duluth. Wonderful, wonderful place.

Im from duluth and I can clue u in on the cool stuff in west duluth.... bars, drunks, drug addicts, and other basic forms of human crap.... I hope that helps!

Public transportation sucks u need a car and license 4 all jobs here might have to relocate cant get no job.

Born and raised here, I have 2sons. I drive my boys to Superior schools everyday due to the crappy Duluth school district. To get a good job in this town you need to know or blow someone. Or you are stuck at the "tourist seasonal" jobs. The crime rate is through the roof, drugs are everywhere and law enforcement can't keep up.

Duluth is great and worth visiting, along with Highway 61. Your vocal fry, however, is unappealing. It's an affectation that is usually contained to females. You seem like a good guy. Be yourself.
