So I'm thinking about doing this to mine. My question is if its tubeless ready do you have to add the tape? Or just the valve stem, the sealant, and choice of beverage?
@TXMTBN4 жыл бұрын
Do it! If you’ve got a 2021 Stumpjumper alloy base it comes pre-tapped, so you just need to put the valve and sealant in. Same with most all bikes that are “tubeless ready.”
@TXMTBN4 жыл бұрын
I would recommend having some tape on hand just in case you have any issues.

You can shave some weight. I linked to the valve stems and all the stuff I used in the description if you need to pick any of that up. Should all be in-stock last time I looked. The hardest part since your all tapped up is seating the tire. Take note of how I pull the tire out to the edges to make inflation easier. Take care not to put any rips in your tape when removing the tire. It’s a snap, let us know how it goes! Send me a short video and I’ll throw it up on the channel.

I've got that same rim tape on my wtb rims. Good stuff. It creates a great seat and seal for the tires.

Nice, I appreciate the recommendation on valve stems. I might have to try those Granite Juicy ones out.

Thanks for the tips. I’ve had the tires since your upgrade video but hadn’t converted yet. I got a flat on the trail (I had a tubilito with me) and that was enough incentive to make the switch.

Thanks this is very informative. I was able to convert the front wheel but I'm have a hard time removing the rear wheel. Can I get your advise on how to remove the rear thru axle?

Are the factory fitted tyres tubeless ready? They don’t say tubeless on them and have a really slack fit, making the process really hard!
@TXMTBN3 жыл бұрын
They absolutely should be and mine were. With the supply chain the way it is who knows. If you got a butcher and a purgatory should be good to go. Use a good pump or air compressor to pop them into place when your airing them up.

The 2021 fox dpx2 190x45mm does fit very well The only thing u will need is the fox shock mounting hardware the size for the hardware is m6x20. And it looks flawless.

It does. Take care not to damage it when you pull the tire off.

Great vid, thanks! Question - the tire looked flat when you were injecting the sealant - I saw you recommended holding the tire up so you don't get spill-back. Did you immediately inflate post-injection and to what pressure before rolling it to spread the sealant? Thanks!
@TXMTBN3 жыл бұрын
If you inject (my preferred approach) or pour in, the tire will definitely be flat. Then you screw the valve back in and inflate until you hear the tire seat itself. It will make some loud pops and pressure will vary to get that to happen. Once it’s seated you can spin to spread sealant and then adjust tire to your desired riding pressure and hit the trail!

Did you add rim tape over the factory rim tape? Did you use ISO alcohol (worried it might weaken adhesive on original rim tape)? Thanks
@TXMTBN3 жыл бұрын
I’d pull it off and start from scratch and yes I clean with iso 70%. I bought a little spray bottle off Amazon and keep it in that.
