My interest in Ronstadt's singing has been rekindled lately. I just watched one of here concert DVDs last night (Atlanta) as well as an earlier show from Germany. She can really belt out a tune with so much power and yet has the flexibility to sing warm and gently. She's a national treasure.

I have always loved her songs. When record albums were the thing, I actually had to buy duplicates of some from playing them so much. My sister, who is 13 years younger than me, also had to listen. I am not sure how much of his speech was really by him, but it was an inspiration. Many may pooh-pooh him, but he will go down as one of our great presidents for his love of this country and doing everything he felt was best for it. I hope and am sure Ms. Ronstadt was appreciative for this award. To receive it from him was just icing on the cake. She IS a national treasure. I listen to her almost everyday and am so sad I never had the opportunity to witness her perform live. Thankfully there is recordings. I love both of these people so much. I've had a crush on Linda since I was a teen (b.1951), and Barack is the MOST HUMAN PRESIDENT I've ever seen or heard of, a true "man of the people" (huh: interestingly weird phrase that's never questioned as to what it might truly mean) because he is so wonderfully much a people himself and not just an obviously estranged politician; such a great example of someone who's not beat up by their background, well-educated, inspiringly perceptive, gentle, good-humored and humorous, generous, wonderfully considerate, , plus the most musically hip of any POTUS ever. Did any other prez care about these wonderful contemporary musicians (incl. Dylan) who enhance our lives? Uh-uh nope no way.

When an extremely talented person is being presented with an important award by President Obama, it's time to take your insulting remarks somewhere else. Find another place to be negative and enjoy it with your other downer friends. It gets really stupid and old! Thank you, Linda Ronstadt, for all you've done and sang.

You need help. It's not about "sucking up to stars". It's about American culture, music, art, and outstanding people with talent who have contributed to our happiness. Why are you so disturbed? Have a piece of pie, or listen to some Linda Ronstadt music.

I bought every album and she , Joni Mitchell, and Barbra Streisand were my first vocal coaches :) I learned how to sing by singing with the best Didn't know it until I started Voice class a year ago.,

No one more deserving than her. Even after being silenced by Parkinson's, she's so humble. She said in an interview, "I can't complain. I had a long run at the trough. " Classy lady.
