Who knew there are tulips that look like roses? Your newly painted house looks great. The painters did a nice job. The clematis and Japanese maple tree will look wonderful in their new spots. Love your daily chores...never boring. :)

That is how you want a cut flower garden to look - all those beautiful tulips and so much color. Glorious. I think that clematis looks so great there, can't wait to see it in full bloom and I love the look of that obelisk. I keep noticing how beautiful the house looks now that it has been painted - it is only seeing the before and after that you really see the difference. As always, I love this channel and all that Laura and Aaron, and the team are doing. I look forward to every video.

I'm so happy this worked out! I also think planting anything Spring and delicate in compost gets the best results. My sister let's me have some of her compost soil. The rows look stunning like in Europe. I do like them natural in the landscape, but this is really great! You're also creating the best memories for your daughter. My grandmother was a florist with a greenhouse and beautiful rose garden. She died when I was in 7th grade, and I will always have the memories of her flowers and of sticking my face in her giant garden roses.

3:48 Inimitable was recently the "word of the day" Meaning: 10:00 'something that is inimitable is, literally, not able to be imitated. In actual usage the word describes things so uniquely extraordinary as to not be copied or equaled, which is why you often hear it used to praise outstanding talents or performances.' (I knew the meaning, yay!) What a perfect name for that tulip.

This weather in 5b this year is such a gift. We are so ahead schedule on our tasks (which is a spreadsheet literally) and the flowers are ahead of schedule too. Foxglove and tulips at the same time. Our Veronica's have their stalks and about to burst. Weird, but I'll take it. This will make May (for us in 5b) not so overwelming. Thanks mother nature! Lastly, squirrels ate 150 tulips over winter just in one bed. So, I will be converting to to just all different varieties of daffodils. Squirrels didn't touch one.

Regarding the connection of the 1900s & 1980s sections of your home...you might get inspired by Brent Hull's YT channel. He is a master craftsman/architect from TX that does a weekly series on visually "fixing" the exterior facade of different homes styles. His focus is on preservation of architectural accuracy and "balance" in the proportions of exterior design elements, so the result tells a unified and understandable "narrative." He is also the owner of a period-authentic architectural millwork and window restorations company and is an industry expert in the history of interior wood trim. May give you some ideas on how to unify your home when you move forward with renovation plans. 🙂

It's just magical watching you miss Laura getting after your projects. You definitely are an inspiration to all of us out here. Maybe some day we can plant here in eastern Idaho.
