I am afraid of tumbling and cartwheels but this is a perfect session for us beginners to trust ourselves and the instructor, very detailed and helpful. Thank you so much po. I am excited in the process and my progress. 😊

I’m 37 years old, slightly overweight, with fibromyalgia. I couldn’t do these. They look easy but are actually SO hard!
@gmbfit3 жыл бұрын
Ah man, fibromyalgia is really tough. Take these slow. As you know, energy conservation is an important issue here and we don’t want folks pushing through pain or exhaustion.

@@gmbfit nice! Congratulations! I'm a purple belt myself and I've been doing gymnastics/tumbling for a few months now and I absolutely love it! Let's see if it helps my jiu jitsu as well.

Bartłomiej Somiak That’s great man! I did judo for many, many years (black belt) and why you see my belt hanging there in the video. Gymnastics/tumbling will definitely help! Keep at it. :)

Unfortunately, while avoiding my head and neck, I pressed into my shoulder so hard in this first move that I seem to have torn a ligament. Felt a huge pop, and I just got home from the Dr, who has me in an arm sling with anti-inflammatories. So far it seems like just a partial tear and hopefully rest will make it better. I wanted to share my story to let people know to avoid putting their body weight too directly into their shoulder socket. Otherwise I really appreciate instructional videos like this. Maybe make some kind of updated one with some tips on additional body mechanics to avoid.

Please don't ever force your weight onto a limb or joint that's not prepared for it. I hope you recover quickly - take care :)

These look like the basics of Vitamin. Ryan does focus on the control of the movement here though. Is this the optimal way of doing it as apposed to the flow style in Vitamin?
@gmbfit6 жыл бұрын
Nothing is optimal. Vitamin is a program about experiencing a variety of movements, so the practice is set up to focus on awareness and experimentation. This is an intro to specific movements, and the linked article explains what we're shooting for here better than I can in a quick YT comment ;) It's a good Q, but there's no single right answer for it.

Can a heavy wight person do this?
@gmbfit4 жыл бұрын
Depends on so much ore than weight. If your arms are strong enough, and you have decent general body control, it's probably fine. I've seen many larger people who could easily do various kinds of tumbling moves.
