This one I owe to the search algorithm. I’ve practiced hatha yoga for 7 years and learned different pranayama techniques, yet never thought of trying tumo. My blanket dries well on the balcony. That is a whole different kind of breathing technique! Quick and bold

Here a little summary as I understood it 1 warrior breath - take a seat (possibility of fading) - Exhale fully - rub the hands (warmth) - left hand over umbilicus, right hand on top (knuckles over the wrist of the other hand) - shoulders down, relax - powerful / relaxed breath in with sound trough the nose - get straight back while bearing in - Exhale through the nose or mouth and lay forward - if you get light headed take the sound during inhalation down = less powerful inhalation - do 5 times then open the mouth, relax and Exhale slow 2 breath lock and sink down - inhale at last breath, hold it in for 1-2 seconds (the longer you hold the light headed are you will become) - relax your shoulders, if you need you can swallow and make your belly big (like you want to blow balloon with closed lips / can try to blow against hands on lips). - open your lips and breathe out slow and smooth thereby keeping the belly out and relax 3 tummo Version A - as you exhale belly stays out and down -breath out of lips like a straw, as slow as you can (a feather before your mouth shouldend be moved from the air stream you exhale) - thereby slightly contract the ano sphincter - afterwards breath normally in your belly Version B - with you exhale allow the belly to slowly and slightly tighten back and down (1mm) using 10-20 % of muscle power - breath like in version A

Sir I discovered this technique when I was in the 7th grade because I forgot my jacket. something from within guided me into this which is how I learned to stay warm naturally. I didn't do the hands part, but they had me hold my yawn in and exhale slowly along with thinking about a warm place.(I used all of my senses to go to that place.)I decided to look up this practice to verify if it's a real thing. I will try your exact technique.

I have been thinking of starting Wim Hof's breathing technique for long time and now recently got interested about it again. I did some googling and found my way to this tummo breathing. Feels great after doing this! Full of energy! I have experience of meditating from long time, and of some breathing techniques, but this tummo technique was new for me. Ive done (by intuition) this deep breathing where keeping the breathe in for few seconds. Slowing the breathing down to very slow gradually while relaxing the whole body, going into this trance type of state of total relaxation and presence. Gotta do some experimenting with this Tummo technique now. Going to add this to my daily routine. You have great vibe and very clear way to explain things. Thank you and greetings from Finland!

@@bastian6173 I agree. And Wim Hof tells you that the method puts you in fight or flight state. And the cold therapy puts you in a fight or flight state. I just dont see the point of inducing such a state unless necessary. My life has been much better since i stopped listening to guys like wim hof. My meditations have been much gentler and my mind has increased drastically in clarity. Just by simple sitting there
@bastian61734 жыл бұрын
@@Oshianis I think the cold therapy has its place. It boosts your cardiovascular and immune system. If you look into the Nordic countries. They are taking ice baths for ages and they are known to have a strong immune system. But I think it's advanced. The trick is to get into the water and not let the cold bother you. Your mind has to be totally free from thinking. If you're not able to do that then you won't get the benefits. I agree with you: the mind is the most important piece of the puzzle. And if I look at a lot of the wim Hof practitioners I can see from 100 miles away that they have no clue how the mind truly works. They try to force their mind and body into a certain state. But that's not how it works. I think the key lies in total relaxation and surrendering of the mind to the present moment and knowing that by doing that you are going to be okay. And this gives you confidence. Wim Hof method is supposed to reduce stress but it's doing opposite. I am much better if with ordinary breathwork and meditation.

I really appreciate you're teaching and this method and the surrounding information/awareness. Am looking forward to continuing this practice! I found this from a friend who found it through her dad :) I did practice the "Wim Hof method"... I studied it and practiced it everyday for couple months... and, went on from there to other yogic breathing techniques with breath holds that I found more helpful. I found wim hoffs and some of his student/teachers teaching not in any way as clear as your teaching... I think that most people would need this type of clarity to be able to practice the Wim Hof method and have it be the most helpful, not hurtful. also, I am thinking the tummo breathing different, as it's going to let the CO2 rise to the point of actually letting your blood release the oxygen to the tissues where it is most needed... which the Wim Hof method doesn't...and that's okay it does other good things... thank you, again 😊🤙

(Update) I’ve been consistent with this technique and I’ve experimented with it as well. Instead of slowly letting my breath out I just hold it in and squeeze. Eventually, with a couple rounds, the air will completely disappear from my stomach/lungs during a squeeze. When I achieve this, I’m at my perfect temperature. I can hold empty lungs for long periods of time. I have more endurance later in my movements. I’ve also experimented with Tummo and Wim Hof’s version of it together in different variations. I’m now to the point where I know the abilities and how effective they are. 🙏 I understand how great feats can be accomplished with these techniques.
